  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

That's poo. Maybe it's time to start again if the engine now needs rebuilding? Break your car and buy that nice white 96 TT as a project car? Would work out cheaper than an engine build / welding / respray. Now that so much needs doing, is it financially viable?

Hi Si, for me it isn't the financially viable problem....... I just can't sell her........ it's not just owning a Z for me..... It's owning this particular Z........ weird but she has kept me positive through bad times dreaming and looking forward to driving her again sometime.....

Carrot and donkey..........lol

Now all I need to do is find the money for parts and time to actually do the work needed.........

Or find some help from mechanically minded people to help???.........lol

Had a spare hour this afternoon so with a bit of scrap plus a bit of time i knocked up a Hicas ball joint puller or in this case a joint pusher...makes the very awkward job a walk in the park now:yes: Thanks to danny for the hub for a jig:biggrin:

well engine out new one in just got too put together know

fitted 25mm spacers on the front so i can fit my 19in staggered deepdishes on. also fitted engine bay strutts. nothings ever straight forward on these cars, having to move fuel lines an all just to fit strutts. also fitted new targa seals to stop the leaks :thumbup1:

I gave up on car till tomorrow...... but....... did strip off the peeling coating on my rear boot blind and wrapped in carbon fibre film and I actually like it. It looks better than peeling, flaking, brittle old vinyl..... lol

Here is my effort for this evening........lol

PASSED THE MOT.......... yay...... failed this morning on bulb out, ABS light on and front brake flexi pipes not secured.....

Came home, changed bulb, fitted rubber grommets on brake lines and found ABS sensor on o/s/f was not connected (missed reconnecting when dropped engine in).....

Went back and she sailed through.......

Then on way home had a loud bang....... water all over the road....... viscous fan wobbling everywhere and water gushing from under water pump....... aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh....

Hopefully just water pump........ but need to get underneath and have a look now..... but she is insured and MOT'd now....... next is tax disc and mend her..... lol

Good water pump..... managed to last 2 years sitting there, then 10 miles...... trying to work out what caused this to fail.....

I guess you're going to have these little issues for a while. Have you done a 60k services? Car's been off the road for 2 years or something, when was the main service last done?

Well done on the MOT, I bet it's strange driving it after so long!
