  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

EU.... what EU? Looking forward to the pics Richard.

I finally screwed my new 'plates onto the car...….

...I reckon the plain design, bereft of border and Eu flag looks much better

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

In addition to fitting the new number plates, I also replaced more fuel hoses and hose clips. I had already done the three easy ones by the fuel filter; so this time I changed the two from the fuel damper - the little one to the RH fuel rail; and the longer one to the hard pipe. I also did the little one between the regulator and the hard pipe..…

….I left the last two, which looked really difficult to get at. I couldn't quite reach the bottom hose clip screw on that little one under the fuel regulator; so I shall leave that until I replace the regulator. I also didn't change the one between the right and left fuel rails. I think Jeff did a write-up on that; so I'll do it another time once I have found his thread:wink:

Done a wuick oil change. First time under the car. Rust is not bad but suspension is more or less all shot. Wtf is this? Was used as a sump plug washer. Made from plastic.IMG_5461.jpg

Also replaced probably a 26 year old clutch fluid. What a pain working with a vacuum pump and a 50ml reservoir. Was the colour of the engine oil... that fixed my crunchy second gear.IMG_5463.jpg

Next step will be to replace all fluids. I bet most of them never been changed.

Went to a local car show today, weather was good & there was plenty of cars to see. Bumped into another zed so directed them towards the club & also found another one for sale in the car park, looked a bit sorry for itself.

...As for me, I did nothing today as I was at work. But yesterday, as it was such a nice day, we took the Zed on a little trip to The Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park. Not a huge road trip from here, but another day out with the Zed, nonetheless!! I am certainly enjoying having the Zed back

Today I popped into town and finally remembered to take my spare key in to get it cut, I’ve only had it for about 6 years! Anyway, the guy that did it (Timpsons) had no interest in doing it properly, did a terrible job, f**ked it right up and it doesn’t work at all! Awesome!

I was going to do a before and after shot, but I’ll just stick with the before!

Your key probably broke his machine !

Had a play around with the lights, turned the dummy side pods into DRLs, fitted some front foot well LED strips under the dash and 'upgraded' the dash side consoles to LED's (not the best pic of the interior)

Up next is fitting a new sump that i'm painting in the garage as mines has been leaking in two places next to that small rectangular welded section on the side, it's not too bad but still better changed! Also going to upgrade the bulbs behind the clocks at some point because now they look all dim in comparison.

and yeah I've got a legal number plate in the boot of the car haha

Likewise - I think I'll do that tomorrow.... It is Friday, so nearly the weekend...

Looking good mate! I did the DRL thing with my dummy corner lights too - I was concerned it might look tacky, but it does bring the car a little more into the 21st century, but without the OTT-Christmas-tree light look:wink:
