  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Had a great drive out into North Wales this morning to the horse shoe pass. Quick coffee watching all the motor bikes & cars go past in the sunshine away from the kids, then back to reality .

Drove down to Doncaster last night to pick up some wheels.... Will need a refurb at some point and also the rear tyres have been put on the opposite wheels so will swap them round soon

Are you ditching those nice 350z wheels and reverting to stock Dave!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

No, I've always wanted a set as spare predominantly for during the winter to prevent flat spots on my other tyres.

These came up for a good price and have decent tyres on too (full set of pretty much new Toyo Proxes) . They could do with a refurb at some point and I may use them this year for a change. Not sure the tyres are the right size though....?

Rears 225 45 16

The guy I bought them off had them on an MR2!

Ahh right mate - that's a relief; as your Zed looks just great on the Rays 350z wheels...

The stock tyres on the JDM cars would be 225/50-16 all round and the rears on a UK (or US TT) would be 245/45-16.

Yup - what JP said. Hence on the UK/US TT specs, the rear wheels are also an inch wider than the fronts to accommodate those tyres:wink:

Cheers Richard... I do like those 350z wheels. I suppose I'll be ok using the tyres the wheels have come with for now. Like I said they are mainly for during the winter months when all it does is move up and down the drive!

Can't beat sending your Zed to Jimmer.....

Must get mine down to him for a cambelt change....

Drove to Stoke this morning to get some seats from a breaker for the slicktop. They are the same ones I've already got so manage to make a set of good ones out of the two sets.

Today, I changed the fuel filter - along with the hoses either side of it... Oh, and the return hose. I bought the full replacement 8-hose kit from Z1; plus the later style spring-clips, so no need to keep re-tightening come winter time.

Granted, I'll have to replace the others at some point before then, but some do look a little hard to reach:lol:

And top tip from JeffTT - leaving the Zed unused for a day or two certainly does the trick. No fuel pressure in the system, means no issues with fuel leakage, when removing the old bits!!

Cursed it for eating it's radiator. At least I noticed before it overheated I guess e2c3a555bd54da1500bebadca61f664b.jpg

Quite a common problem - the plastic fracturing from stress fatigue and/or overtightening the clamp. It's one of the

reasons I went for an all aluminium radiator (Koyo).

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

Much difference between koyo and mishimoto?

I don't have any experience of the Mishimoto rads other than they look very similar to the Koyos and are generally cheaper.

This is the Koyo in situ in the car. The stock bonnet strut brackets are swapped L/R so they clear the end tanks and notched

to grip the radiator top lip.

I’m not ready to fit mine yet, so many out there that I ordered from Luke at Z Centre, only changing because of the work I’m doing.

Not today but yesterday I put the battery back in the Z and started it for the first time this year. Feeling a bit tense as new plugs were put in and new fuel filter so I hoped all the plugs sparked and no leaks from the fuel filter. First turn of the key it turned over and stalled (probably fuel starvation) Second turn of the key it fired up and all sounded good except for a slight tapping but a good drive will sort that out. Coming of SORN on the 1st of May ready for some Summer driving

I have the Mishimoto - and am pretty pleased with it....

…..Great idea on swapping the brackets Andrew - I got fed up with the OEM items and bought the "Z" plate from Luke...!! Should have tried this first...:lol:

So my swapping the base on my seats idea didn't work quite as well as I thought. When I fitted it the seat looked twisted so I took it back out & had a look at the base, it was snapped in two places. So last night I split the base from the back again & took the material & foam off, did the same on my old base & refitted the good material on the old base. Still needs finishing off so fingers crossed this works. One small job turns into a big one as usual.
