  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I took mine out for its first blast of the year. After refitting my recircs equipped with the BDE GHK I have substituted the honk for an initial blast of flutter, slowly phasing into a hissing or recircs! I think the springs in the BDE kit are a little too strong for modest boost but at least it sounds better and is keeping pressure in the right places!

As it was such a lovely day, it would’ve been rude not to throw the drone in the car and have a little play? This is my first use in anger with the car and is subject to much improvement as I get to learn the features and have more time to play. I threw this little vid together just to see how the footage works together but it’s not a particularly exciting video, just a pre-production practice session that I thought I’d share with you guys!

Been spending some money on parts. New scuttles, bumper brackets, intercoolers with new hoses & ducts. Having to modify the ducts & brackets slightly to fit. The duct in the pick is for the other side before anyone says anything ?

Nice one Tom - I really must get new scuttles too.... Mine are not bad - better than most, for their age TBH, but now I've had the car resprayed, I just think I should....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Today, after cleaning the AMG and RR, once the afternoon sun had dried the roads, I went for a little drive in the Zed....

….Had a play with a shiny new Porsche Cayman - Zed did well considering it has 25 years and over 100k miles under its belt.... Suffice to say, best not reveal anymore on a public forum. Filled the tank with Shell's finest, drove home and fitted new hybrid wiper blades all round. Oh and I gave it another wipe down with Auto Finesse Glisten before popping the Zed back in the garage until next time!!!

Drove mine across London Friday night, but it was too cold for the poor old girl just wheelspan everywhere

Either you have one of them crazy paddle clutches that are like a toggle switch, or you have replaced the progressive throttle assembly for a toggle switch, or both?

If not, did you try using the throttle and clutch pedals a little more gently? [emoji13]

I had the same issue the other day when I blew the dust off mine Chris. Even at 4.5k in 3rd if I put to much on the loud pedal the rear wheels just light up. I put it down to the roads being very cold and dusty (possibly from all that salt that went down).

Lol @ Andrew. I think Joely might still be on edge thinking that Richard done a waterless wash. :scared::sweatdrop:

It’s not the waterless wash, it’s the way he did it...

Oh no, I’m turning into a detailing woman?

At least it's not just me! It wasn't that cold really, but as soon as I pulled out of my mates drive sideways at 10mph I knew it was going to be a slow ride home. Mine always spins the rears for a few minutes whatever the weather though, just not as bad as that normally

I took her out first thing this morning for a few picture by the harbour before spend the morning giving her a bit of a clean.

Oh no Richard, you didn’t use the Glisten as a waterless wash now did you? That’s strictly an LSP after washing! :scared:

Nope - the Zed was already clean from the previous wash, as it's been sat under cover in the garage since then!! I just decided to give it a quick wipe-over with detailing spray, then added another coat of Glisten afterwards. I won't use a waterless wash - in any form

Yup - on a dry clean road.... The car was still clean when I got back, no road grime present, so what's wrong with a quick wipe-over with detailing spray (Meguairs Ultimate Quik Detailer, to be precise) - and then adding the glisten afterwards...? Should I have just stopped with the detailing spray this time?

Detailing 101, Rule 1 - Revision 1: Once the vehicle has been driven, it’s no longer acceptable to touch the paint until a decontamination wash has been carried out. Refer Rule 37 - Revision 6 for extenuating circumstances (eg show purposes) and procedures of how to safely carry out a waterless wipedown.

Oops - I did bad then..... Hell, I thought Si was going to have a go at me for driving my Zed in February...

Had a great drive back from PowerZed after Jim changed the gearbox for me. Car is now running like a dream.

I drove my zed around the block last weekend for the first time since October, I forgot how harsh the ride was. So today i changed the front lower suspension arms. The old ones were well past it, the new SPC ones look much better & I definitely felt a difference on the test drive. Gave her a wash & fitted the front lights Andy re did for me as water was getting in. Meet in liverpool tomorrow.

I have been looking for something nice as a daily driver, I can’t seem to find any high performance cars in my price range, so I’m going to fix up my red Zed. Now I have to buy all the parts I sold.

New suspension arrived today and more parts on their way.
