  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

The headlights you've taken out are still switched on!

Magic headlights. When I removed the bulbs, they shattered so they must still be in there powered on.

Nothing for me as such this week but I am picking up a low level spoiler and A pillar gauge pod (3) with boost gauge tomorrow from Dan. Will use the other two holes for oil and water temp unless anyone else has some sensible suggestions...the car wont be tuned heavily in the future. Weather kinda puts a stop to most things these days. Although I have booked in with Lee in a week or so time to have a good look over some of my issues. Fingers crossed.

Rear subframe done and HICAs bypassed. Wow what a pig of a job...

Locking collars installed and IMPUL swaybar moved over.

Quick couple of jobs on Zeb today, Finally got round to replacing the weather strip that goes up the a pillar and round the t top opening, found the "secret" screw now all is snug and hopefully fully water tight. Also replaced the crap quality boot carpet with a mint condition black deep pile one from and earlier car, boot now looks 100% better.

Did you put an NA subframe on Ali?

So, today I swore a lot, got the clutch pedal installed.

Bruises and cuts later of hammering the auto pilot bush, I used a pipe wrench to spin it and loosened it and it finally spun out. Then Pilot bush installed, and flywheel + clutch installed also.

Not particularly exciting but I replaced my rear brake pads today.

Also cleaned the glass and removed the glue that was left on my windscreen from a parking ticket...

Weldone kiddo. Have you modified your gear box yet?

Weldone kiddo. Have you modified your gear box yet?

That's the next job to do, need to pick up a grinding blade as opposed to the cutting blade that is on it, and I am told grind the inside where the starter mounts up about 2mm, and shim it out 3mm. I might make a plate to secure it properly but it shouldn't be a problem.

So gearbox in on Friday I think, then finishing up wiring etc on Saturday for SE meet on Sunday... phew.

Good stuff, although I may have been a good idea to use the clutch and fly assembly off the car to test fit. Clutch pedals in I take it? I dug this out for you too. Reverse light wiring;

Obviously you can neaten that up but it just shows the way it's done.

No salt for mine this Winter!

Washed, waxed, tyres inflated to 40 PSI, fuel stabiliser added, CTEK charger connected and covered. All that's left to do now is cry. Oh, and buy some dehumidifiers.

Sitting there having a smoke I felt it was missing something. So in four hours I created a two wiring looms and altered the indicator units to give me the US running lights.

I'm well chuffed with the result.

Make your own Dehumidifiers mate, saw this on a thread somewhere and tried it, works superbly, obtain some silica based cat litter (Wilkinsons stores sell it in bags) put it in old but clean socks, tie or sew the ends up and leave in car.. Works a treat, I even use em in my caravan when in storage..
