  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I spent the day with a company not far from me, who soda blasted my wheels, ready for me to repaint them.

They did a few other things I wanted to see being done too, mainly aluminium panels

Looking at ways to mount my new gauges, might take a while wiring is not my strong point. ?

Ordered a pair of 285/30/18 Bridgestone Potenza's this morning after receiving my 245/35/18 Dunlops part worns. I have to say that these were a bargain at £115 shipped for the pair, they're practically brand new:thumbup:

The Veilsides are at the final polishing stage so when I have a few more funds, i'll get these back (fortnight or so):thumbup1:

Dropped the Z back up to Lee at LA Auto's for cavity wax and to get rid of a few dents, along with a few other jobs.

As always his tea making skills are of the highest quality :thumbup1:

Went back to Andy's (Phutumsch) again today to further enhance my centre panel. Its alot brighter than it was before with my sidelights on plus it also goes brighter and acts as a brake light:)

Top work Andy!

Got them on ebay Ali, I'm well chuffed with them for that price:thumbup:

Changed oil today without filter. 5L of Mobil 3000 5W30 for €25 wasn't bad!

Also this week: differential drained and refilled, and new rear speakers fitted. That's about it until major service in a few months, and changing brake fluid at some point.

Done a little more work on the tablet install today. Getting closer it's just so time consuming getting the lines right and shaped symmetrically. Once all the filler work is done and the cubby hole fitted I think it will look quite smart.

whats with the brown paint? guide coat? i hop its not going to be brown :scared:

It's primer! No way would it be brown haha.

I painted it black as you can see in one of the pics just to see the imperfections.

Phew, weird colour for a primer. whats happening underneath in the gap?

Hi Jay, I thought our cars run best on 10w40 or 10w60, I was told before that 5w30 would be too runny ?? Just double check before you drive it any distance as I was told the oil would actually leak due to it being too thin.

It's too thin for a TT but should be fine for NA. Couldn't get 10W30 or 10W40.

Not sure which bit you mean is too thin. The viscosity performance at 100°C is the the /30 and /40 bits and normally /40 (and up)

are suitable for use in the UK. The winter values (5/, 10/) are all in the range suitable for use in the UK.

The minimum viscosity. Service manual says not to use 5W for TTs, but as you said that's probably fine for this season in this part of the world.

It does? If you mean the 5W/20 and 5W/30 for turbos, then the /20 and /30 bits are the parts of interest (in the

chart you posted). 5W/20 is too thin under any circumstances and 5W/30 unless in very cold environments.

Well then I'm confused. If it's the last part that's of interest as you say, why is 10W30 fine for normal environments but 5W30 isn't?
