Renewed my insurance (from the 21st)....

 

....£230 this year. Not the cheapest quote - but I got them to add commuting (just in case I decide to drive it to work occasionally:biggrin: ); and as part of a multi-car deal, they covered the SLK for £320 and Julia's Landy for £300. All in all, not a bad deal I'd say...:cool:

It does. I have just measured the three zeds and JP's is 7mm shorter than the other two lol

It must have been a rear end shunt...... lol

Today I cleaned out the transmission cooler using brake cleaner and found it was blocked up...... It isn't now....... lol

Refitted the cleaned filter and the missing 2 mountings from inside the transmission......

I started to drill out the snapped transmission bolts.... started to get dark so giving it a break till tomorrow!

It must have been a rear end shunt...... lol

Exchanged my air filters for a pair of K&N drop-ins. The old ones didn't look too bad but they've let quite a bit of grit in and a decent sized twig :scared:

Just a quick Q... Having some clutch issues I think.. Anyone here got good knowledge of these clutches?

I've had a few times that I've gone to press the clutch down and it's hard. Softens up again quickly but sometimes feels hard to press down. I drove it at about 45mph in 5th for about a mile and the clutch again felt hard to press.

When I recently had the car on the four post ramps, I did notice a small patch of oily substance around the small square hole between the gearbox and Bell housing.

Although I don't seem to be losing fluid.

It's baffling me more as the clutch was only replaced 2500 miles ago so I'm positive is not just normal wear.

Was told it may be losing pressure through the slave cylinder?

I'd have thought that would include a loss of fluid though right? Not sure what to check really as I'm unsure if the car has internal or external slave cylinder? Any help would be greatfully received..
