  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

there are some cryptic clues in most members post showing where they are.......

Sherlock Pete strikes again

Baz, I might have a buyer interested.. Dont know where you are in the country but a guy who missed out on my other black car gave me his number so I could call him if anyone in the club was selling. What's you're asking price mate? If you're somewhere close enough for him to come I'm sure he'll be interested..

Yep I'm in Lincoln.. Got a few jobs to do on her first then it'll be up for sale. It's a genuine 99 spec model in midnight purple. NA with manual conversion.

Took her for a half hour spin. Dropped 1 cylinder, happened twice. If I hit the limiter the injector connection is lost. New connector required then. May as well replace all 6.

Kerbed my front near side wheel :cursing::cursing::cursing: I must have these alloys for three years now and I have kept them as new so this is a big disappointment.Out with the wet and dry to see if I can polish the scraped lip up.

Noooooo :mad::sad::crying:

Hope you get it sorted Gaz; I know how you've kept these wheels over the last few years!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Is that a good indication that there's a problem with the injector wiring then? Or is it your coil pack connectors? I had a similar thing happen to me when I hit high revs one day, the engine started running like I had lost a cylinder for a few seconds but then just sorted itself out..

Never was too sure what that was

The Z has gone in for it's engine swap, fingers crossed it's going to go ok for me, every pipe / vac hose is being replaced on the new engine including the plenum bypass, timing belt, water pump, plugs etc.:clap::thumbup:

Best of luck! Do you expect to have it on the road after this or is there more work first?

Keith collected my zed today to deliver to Lee Dent.

Got a few jobs to sort , new exhaust gaskets and a query turbo coolant line leak. Hopefully Keith's going to fit my freshly painted 99 spec bumper while its there too so she will come back all fresh faced.

That Z looks great Ian  Are you holding on to it?

I am Gary for the moment. I know she will never compare with Zebedee but ive put 3 years into getting the car how I want it so I can't think about selling although I've been close a couple of times. Im using it as a daily at the mo. Or at least I will after lee has fixed it. It's still only got 64k on the clock and zero rust so a keeper for now at least.

Yes its a keeper mate and if you sell you will regret it.

She just need repainting now and a new rear spoiler then eventually some new alloys but I'm kinda liking the ones I got of Tom, wide UK rears all round, shadow chrome powder coated and the improved ride quality too.

Just been out and polished the tail pipes today! I always knew they were stainless but couldn't tell through the crud that was on there! No doubt now.. Lol..

Just started doing my own anodising too so once it's perfected I can do some cheaply for you guys if you wantanything done.. I'm just about to anodise my plenum. And no its not a euphemism! ?

The stock wheels complemented with some spacers to stop the wheels looking so sunk in, look great. If only they were even an inch bigger in diameter I would of kept them. The improvement in ride quality on them with decent tyres is quite noticeable between a then and an 18/19" wheel imo, much more comfort.

Went out to check transmission fluid, all seemed okay so went for a little spin.

I broke down again with the exact same problem as last auto transmission..... warmed up, went through gears okay, got a few miles down the road and then she just lost all drive!!

Let her sit for a few minutes and she goes a few hundred yards and loses drive again.....

Had enough now....... Looks like JAE and this year were a pipe dream for me......

For the first time in the 14 years I have had her, I am contemplating selling her and giving up.......

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

You cant give up Russ there must be some reason for both auto boxes to lose drive.

To be honest the pressure from family to stop working on my Z and spending any money on her is getting to breaking point.....

I spend about £100 a month on her over the year and try to work on her when it fits into everyone else in my families schedule.....

I had saved for JAE ticket and fuel, etc...... but now I would have to spend it on getting her running....... Hoping it is just a blocked filter....

So just need to drain the new fluid, get the sump dropped and check the filter and fluid level..... Then I will know what's going on.....

But not looking good for JAE......

Is it the same torque converter mate? This is why I just converted to manual the autobox is menace.

Its not easy keeping these cars on the road when things go wrong and you need deep pockets to fix them. Hope it is an easy fix Russ good luck mate :clover:

Replaced the drivers side turbo banjo bolt, it was wrong. So for the last two years I've been over pressurising that turbo with oil. Took it for a test drive, I can honestly say that it's currently no better. Really sick of this car now. Driving it is embarrassing.
