Having a problem with the drivers side front indicator.

Its decided to stop working. Not the first time its happened bit it usually fixes itself after a couple of taps.

Only this time its gone off and staying off.

So does anyone know of the earthing points for any of the indicators loom please as im sure its gonna be a bad connection. Unfortunatley it decided to stop working 1hr before mot time(so sadly failed).

There are two earths for that loom I know of and they are both behind each headlight just on the outside of the chassis legs. A black cable with a metal loop on the end held down by a single M6 bolt. I can't find an actual pic but if you're not sure where I mean let me know and i'll add some 'paint' arrows to a picture

Found a pic, this is the drivers side just behind the headlight, it's near enough the same place the opposite side

Cheers eggs. Will check this today. I take it that it wouldnt effect the drivers side side lights if this earth was oose as that still works fine.

I had the same problem, it was as simple as the a bad connection in the buld holder, I pushed the spring bit in and out a few times and some wd40 and no problems since.

Might be as simple as that mate :)

No idea on how the earths work mate but if tapping the bulb helps then like Scubanesh said it's probably the holder. The bulb hasn't blown this time has it?

Bulb is fine but no joy on getting this working today. Will have another look at it tommorow.

Hi mate,

U sure the bulb is good, sometimes they play up give them a bang and the filament in the bulb touches for a bit,

Or could be dirty in tne holder, have u got a volt meter should be easy to find the problem.

Get a 12V tester Dave and take the earth side to a sound earth (neg batt is best) and put the positive to the middle pin in the bulb holder and see if its live..if you get power then its the earth on the bulb holder. You can do a continuity test on the bulb holder earth and the other lead to chassis earth point and see if you get a buzz..iff you dont then its the bulb holder earth either the holder or the fixing to chassis
