can anyone recommend a subtle exhaust that wont compromise power too much?

what are the japspeed ones like?

its for an NA so will be louder then a TT

just finished repairing the zed after the crash, and the first time ever i don't really want to drive it any more. starting to feel really stupid with what sounds like a gang of harleys following me everywhere,

its getting looks for the wrong reasons, between that and the Bee-R limiter on it (which my colleagues keep changing to 2,000rpm when im not looking :glare:) its getting a bit of a reputation that needs to change.

saw them on zcentre, they have silencers in them so guess they would be quieter, anyone got them? that can give me their opinion of them?

Mongoose ?

I had a Mongoose blue flame on my NA, In no way would I describe it as quite:scared:

dam, think thats the problem im going to have, the exhaust that's on it sounded great on my old TT, ok it was still loud but no where near as bad as it is on the NA...

maybe id be best going to power flow and getting a custom system...

I'd say mongoose as well the only thing I can think of that's quieter is the stock one.

mongoose is the common choice for those wanting a quieter system, I've got a full japspeed system including the decatt, its loud but its not mega loud. It doesn't set off car alarums like my capri used too.... hahahaha I had a pair of hks backboxes which I've now scrapped, they were quite quiet, I believe they were hks silence or something, looked meaty but were actually quite quiet.

bungs made no difference at all lol, and the current system does set off car alarms and i've already had a telling off by a police man... ...

i think i'll invest in a mongoose cat-back just got to chose what tail pipes i want now, ovals or twin....

The japspeeds on an NA are pretty loud when above 3000rpm quite raspy too.. Id say either blueflame/mongoose or stock unless you get a custom jobby..Lee

The Mongoose/Blue Flame exhaust is not quiet - but it's probably the quietest aftermarket one available!! As Steams says, the only quieter one is the stock one...!!!

The Mongoose just enhances the ZX's natural engine bellow without being too loud; although there is definitely a more pronounced rumble inside the car at around 2000rpm. But let's be honest, the 300zx is not the quietest car anyway is it - don't forget, the car was withdrawn from the UK/Euro market in 1994 as it would not comply with new noise regulations....

I am happy with the noise my Blue Flame makes - not overly loud but just sporty enough. Although at low frequency on idle, when the car is parked in front of the garage, the resonance from the back end does cause the garage door to hum in time with the engine....!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

technically in the MOT book it does say a car must not produce an excessive noise over factory, not that any MOT centre i've been too care.

they said something along the lines of a S. 59, but as i wasn't driving stupidly i got a warning and he advised i changed it. (or at least keep it out of residential areas late at night.
