rear subframe bush options

Whats the deal? I've seen poly ones solid ones etc? some are saying with the solids you need spacer? confused! also do I need to fully remove the subframe to change them? or can I just drop it six inches sort thing? or is dropping it six inches the same as dropping it out completely?

I've got ES poly ones and you need to keep the outer shell of the old bush. You won't be able to change them by just dropping the sub a 6" i'm afraid. You're going to need good access to get the old bushes out so it's a sub off job.

I was looking at those collor things aswel, but to me if your wedging a 5mm flange in there your going to be raising your ride height... has anyone got solids?

I've got solid ones and I didn't need to space them, like has been said you'll need the subby off to change them

The rubber bushes need to be taken out that then leaves a metal outer ring the rubbers fit inside this If you fit alloy bushes you need to knock/press the outer metal ring out then the alloy bush sits in its place, I've fitted quite a few of these now,

All will become clearer once you start the job

Ive got solid bushes fitted to the sub frame mounts but some people fit the spacer type with the oem bushes still in place. I then have ES poly bushes thought out on the diff etc

The collars lock from underneath and above by clamping the frame in place, they wont raise your the car Steve. Its the option i would go with everytime.

I think if I understanf rightly the driftworks poly ones reduce the height by about 10mm, which would be great. I can see now after you explaining how they work, if the bush is shagged though, yhe collors wont help will they?

Yep I've fitted original nissan bushes, I did the ones on baz's car before he bought it as my bro owned it before, done a few more poly ones and also fitted a few alloy ones including my own, the poly ones that need spacing must be slightly different to oem nissan ones and the alloy ones

Thinking about it they wont affect the ride height just the subframes height, as the shock and spring will dictate the ride height still....

:) true but they are fixed to the subframe, so if the subframe sits nearer the body so does everything else, hence the change in ride height.

Think my bro got them from z centre which he said were nissan bushes I maybe wrong this was before I was into zeds I just fitted them for him
