Anyone had this problem where on the nose panel the bolts have sheered and snapped and what did you do to rectify.

As Gary says above.

Also, clean and buff the surface up. that way you stand a better chance of seeing the centre of the bolt more clearly.

I'd also get a centre punch and use that before you drill, you want a 6x1.25 tap for the thread cutting. :)

If you've never tapped an new thread before there are a couple of things you need to do to. 1... Once drilled, only turn the tap a quarter of a turn (you'll feel it cutting), then turn it anti-clockwise again, keep doing this until you're done. This will ensure the tap will not get clogged up with swarf and jam. and 2.. Take it slowly, if you break the tap in the hole it's a right PITA to get it out as they are harder than you're average drill bit.

Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs.

have a feel underneath where it snapped. There might be enough showing to get some decent mole grips on and undo from underneath before drilling out.Make sure theyre on tight though.Lee

We all have different skills and my guess is not many will know how to tap a hole, there's a great deal of satisfaction in doing it yourself though :whistling:.

The nose panels bolts do not need to be super duper tight so surprised you have an issue here John .
