Think i removed all the idle control and air regulator modules and pipes when i changed mine and replaced all the idle control and air reg pipes they all split when removed [all pipes had gone hard] im sure with all that out of the way they were easy to get to .

i'll soon find out! they should be with me tomorrow, so come the weekend, i'll have a peak.

Crapped myself down the dual carriageway the other day when i spotted steam behind the car in my mirrors... only to find i've got a weep coming from the top heater matrix pipe, that was dripping onto the decat exhaust pipes below.. making things look much worse behind me than it actually was! :)

get yourself some 12" long nose pliers, makes life easier and its getting the old hard brittle ones off that's the hard bit. the silicone ones pop on so much easier because they flex. even new rubber ones are better.

dont try pulling the old ones off as its just not going to happen...cut them with 1 slice along the pipe with a stanley blade and they peel off. Putting the new ones on smear the inside with washing up soap (not oil or WD40) and they just slide on real easy. After there on and clipped up then go into the house and find at least 5 band aid plasters for the cuts on your mitts:rofl::rofl:

lol, the guy at zcentre said just to cut the hose as suggested. might sound a daft question, but do you have to do any bleeding of the system afterwards? anyone experienced air-locks after doing this?

come to london and i`ll do them in 5 min :) i had nothing to remove and my hands to fit there :) and im no midget :)

rolandas, if i was confident the car would get to london without one of these pipes splitting, i probably would lol. never bled a coolant/heater system before.. my RX7 had an AST, so i didnt have to worry about it.. how do you bleed the zed?

jack the front up as high as high as possible set the heater on max, and slowly top up the rad as it drains away burping out the fluid with the vent on the left and the rad cap open. or you can do the other method (that I haven't tried, but have been told by a very reliable source) to get a rag and some compressed air to push the fluid round the system via the rad cap then top up.
