Quick question, id like to uprate my rad at some point to a big core ally one, I remember when I done my manual conversion on my old zed that there were oil cooler lines from the auto box to the side of the rad but not on the manual rad...

I'm keeping this zed auto so can you get a rad that has the oil cooler connectors on or do I delete? Or do I have to get something as well as the rad you would use on the manual?

Hope that makes sense cheers guys....

Would have thought you need to run a separate cooler, I have seen them fitted in front of the rad.

down in the nose panel you will find the engine oil cooler, if the car is jspec you will find a loop through the rad on the rear of it by the viscous fan, if its uk spec it will have a separate cooler, down by the aforementioned engine oil cooler. the best thing to do is, (because you wont get an uprated auto rad) get hold of a small oil cooler, a second hand engine oil cooler will do it, and take the loop from the rad, extend it and use this new cooler to cool the box, then your free to use a manual rad. the jspec box cooler is inadequate anyways, and you will improve the life of your box by improving its cooling ability that way.

Right I kinda get that lol, well its a jap spec so ilk have to see if I can source a cooler cheers

use a zed engine oil cooler..flushed out then mount it next to the original oil cooler and have a matching pair. Done this with mine as i have an ally rad too. It will run a lot cooler than a rad cooler as you wont have 90 degree water sitting on top of it.
