As title, moving into a new house this week, finally get out of my pokey 1 bedroom flat, and a nice big garage for the zed! Thing I need to know is, as it's not taxed, can I legally tow it with another car, I presume I can just want to make sure! And will my little 2.0l 306 xsi be up to the job?

both to no questions m8. vehicle on tow must b taxed, even if front wheels were lifted and put on a towing dolly still has to be taxed. the 306 would be fine if you had two experienced drivers that no how to tow to keep rope taught and it wont jerk on take up, and that's where you would have the problem pugs are made light and thin. only good for towing a jet ski if you are lucky.

Just pre book your car in for a mot at a mates garage. If you get pulled driving it from one house to the other you can say your on way to a booked mot.

dave - can you still do that if the tax has already expired? i thought you could only do that with an expired MOT if the car still had tax.

get 10 pikies to pick it up and carry it there. i reckon that would cost 10 carlsbergs, and infinate quotes to have your drive tarmac'd in the future.

Can always ask at a garage.

you can hire a trailer pretty cheaply.. I needed one once, think it was £40 fro the weekend but you could get half and full day rates as well..

borrow set of trade plates.

You cant just borrow a set of trade plates lol, you would have to be a named driver with the company who has the plates, i have a mate with a garage who has trade plates, i asked the same question, when i needed to pick up a car.
