My car ran fine and boosted fine no problems, it used to boost at 1.2 bar. the person i bought it off said it was 350bhp but had no proof but was about the same speed as an e46 m3.

Since my battery died in the cold .this caused my turbo timer to reset meaning i had to put the time back up, my greddy boost controller is now set to 60 percent but i do not know what it was set to before the battery died.

My car builds up boost pressure to about 0.5 bar then suddenly none and the car sounds flat and slow through the revs. If i let off before it drops out i get a nice woosh from the dumpys but if rev more i have zero noise.Also the car lets in alot of water on the passenger side, thinking if anyone knows if there is any sort of boost or power electrics near the fuel pump relay in passenger footwell.

 

This is all the information i can get about the fault in hand but if anyone has a good idea or has seen this problem before any advice or knowledge is greatly appretiated.

Ok Marlow, first off the boost controller should have a non volatile memory so can remember settings even with no power, but that said it could get corrupted by an attempted start with a low battery but I doubt it.

 

350bhp on 1.2 bar, should make that kind of power on 1 bar really, so it could be better than you have been told or its not running a true 1.2bar.

 

 

The fuel pump relay is in the drivers side footwell not the passenger, the boost electronics are limted to a few items on standard car all under the bonnet and as your on a boost controller you should be able to find it under the bonnet too.

 

The issue could be a problem with the boost solenoid ( det sensor ) circuit if still connected or some issue with the settings maybe as you think, the flat battery issue could be a coincidence as zeds always have the ability to surpise you, needs a little investigation, find a garage with good diagnostic knowledge or a member from here with a ConZult etc.

Okay thankyou for your help. I have a full wiring diagram for my model and am an electrician so i can check the detonation sensor. Il do as much as my knowledge limits me if if starts getting to technical il visit alan jefferys to have it seen to. I am new on this forum as have only just got the z, have a few more questions such as the cheapest place to find new rubber seals for a t bar and a name for the bodykit which is on mine as fthe ront bumper is damaged slighlty and wanted to buy a new one to spray and fit.

you can run codes off the ecu bud which will tell you if the det sensor has thrown up an issue. it wont however tell you if its the sensor or the loom. the sensor is located on the rear of the engine in the 12 oclock postion of the bell housing down in the v, its a knob to get to with the engine and box in situe.

well to start (and no disrespect to Alan) but they aren't Zed specialist and only have very little Zed knowledge, this is more dangerous that none at all.

You can’t play around with these cars if you want them to run right.

Fro diagnostic information, I think Dannzx has diags and he’s near you…. He can most like also offer idea on who can work on the car locally.

For the water leak on the P/S check the drains are clear for the TTop's use some of the plastic coated net curtain wire does the job well. also check the drain tubes have not become disconnected in the sill by looking behind the fuel relay.

sounds like its gone into safety boost to me easy enough to find out, water in the footwell's from experiance is usually first signs of a heater matrix leak or door seal's, weather is crap down here at minute but if you pm me maybe can arrange something.
