So I'm in the process of putting in my order at czp, with the full gasket kit I'm having the cosmetic Headgasket when I asked if they recommend having a slight larger bore size to what I'm running they said this shouldn't be done so, I'm running 88mm pistons z1 say they tend to run a slightly larger bore size on the gasket,to quote Z1 We stock Cometic MLS Head Gaskets in a variety of bore sizes as an option below including 88mm, 89mm, & 90mm. We recommend using a size slightly larger (0.5-1.0mm) than the finished cylinder bore. For instance if using 88mm (1 mm or .040") OS pistons we use a 89 mm Cometic gasket.

CZP said this shouldn't be done,

Now I've never heard of anyone running a slightly larger bore gasket on any other cars, is there any reason why some people do it on a zed?

I will just be using a 88mm gasket

Sorry I don't know the correct answer, but I think it was cz I emailed I have 88mm pistons to go in and have a set of oem gaskets they said oem are ok upto 88mm then need cometic for anything bigger..

If running big power they said cometic is the way to go, but by what there saying buy the 88mm cometic.

But im useless with aftermarket stuff so id wait for someone who knows,

Maybe metal rings on gaskets are protected better, being slightly larger there furter in from the edge of bore..

I've said it before but SZ run OEM gaskets on over 700bhp on the blue beast. I will be using OEM gaskets on mine as well. So 88mm on 88mm pistons is fine by Greg Dupree standards.
