Dave Naxton is offering a special group purchase price, and has this to say:

Hi Noel - It would be great to have the 300ZX club on board.

I believe Bobgenie is looking to compete again. I doubt very much my Zed will be as quick over the 1/4 as my MR2, but it's a highly-strung beast so it may pop at an inopportune moment. I didn't enter last year as part of a club (I was running the only Pulsar there!), and I haven't heard anything about an IMOC presence there this year, so I'll be more than glad to help with any organising if required :)

For those that haven't been before, it's a great day out! Even better if you come for the weekend.... Plus, those without a £100k to plough into their motors need all hands on deck when the inevitable happens

Last time I spoke to Dave, he said to enter individually, then put the team forward. He didn't get back to me last time I tried contacting him though...

I've not heard anything regarding official 300zx.co.uk presence, so it may just be a case of doing it for oneself. If it's to go ahead as a 300zx.co.uk team, I'll need to sort out banners, marquee etc and things are getting tight in all fairness, despite me starting this thread 10th January.

I will be running the MR2 if it's done in time, (otherwise doing it for fun in the Zed) and possibly supporting a couple of cars as well. There is also a chance of having my entry fees covered if I join another team :shifty:

Regardless, it's going to be good to see some Z32 representing at TOTB. Great for the marque :)

I might bring my Z and watch on the sunday, its had a zedworld chip installed but doubt its fast enough for this event, elvington is a short hop for me too

you can practically see the tumbleweeds in here!

I'm going, see you all there :)

Saturday is Boot Camp, in other words a practice session. Night time there is music & beer aplenty :D

Sunday is the competition proper, plus stands and quite a bit to look at as well.

Saturday is practice but while I will be there won't be running until the Sunday (me and Martyna will probably go into the aircraft museum next door lol instead). The likes of Andy Forest won't run on the Saturday and most of the other big boys won't do Saturday either but it's still an OK day. If you're only going for one day make it Sunday.

That's what I was thinking, so might not be worth coming on the Saturday then :-/

IMO its not worth going on Sat unless you are competing or acting as "team support" in some way

As Bob says many of the top runners wont bother or if they do it will only be a single run to check a setting etc.

As Noel says on Sunday there will be the competition proper plus some trade stands(not brilliant but OKish!)

There is a rough timetable of track open. slalom open etc and a cut off time for the finals but the whole day is very informal and not to a strict timetable/format.

Catering is basic and a bit limited... burgers + icecream!!:glare:

Toilets are even more basic........Its ALL portaloos:blink:

TOTB has been running for a decade but it still is a kind of "underground/Alternative motorsport "type of event.

Be warned there is not much of interest other than cars so family members etc who are not dedicated car nuts will soon get bored.

Having said all that I will be there with Bob for the third year running as I find it fascinating and addictive.:punk:

Hi

I wouldnt mind going to this but not sure about the competing aspect of it. I would like to do the 1/4 mile but that would probably be it. I have never done them before either so probably wouldnt be very competitive for the team. I presume you cant only do one event if your competing? My brakes are pretty poor at the mo and i would be frightened of damaging the car on the track or top speed run.

How much are the ticlkets for the camping?

Once you have paid/entered you can do as little or as much as you want.. just one run on the quarter mile up to as many runs as you can fit in on quarter mile . flying kilometer and giant slalom(5 attempts max on the Sunday I think?)

You can do a combi run of quarter mile and km top speed or you can do them individuallyIIRC

Whether you are competitive or not doesnt matter. So far those who have entered have just done so as an individual. The team bit if it happens will come after that. You dont need to join the team bit

Prices are all here..........................

It can sound a pretty daunting thing to get involved with, but it really isn't. You can practice all three disciplines on the Saturday (known as Boot Camp), although you will have to bear in mind that the handling course changes completely in order to make it fair for those only competing on Sunday.

The top speed km runs are known as 'flyers', and to signal your intentions you make a flying gesture with your hand as you approach the 1/4 mile start line. Everything is explained on Sunday at the briefing, plus you'll be comfortable with everything once you've done a few on the Saturday. Just make sure you remember to close your window on a flyer, at 140mph I found dirt in the car levitating in front of me and it was quite distracting :wack:

The cost for competing is £100. For your money you get the following:

Entry for yourself & vehicle to compete on both the Saturday & Sunday in all 3 disciplines

Entry for another person & support vehicle

Entertainment on the Saturday evening (music, mechanised bull & alcohol )

Camping space (last year I had 2 tents & 2 cars parked up - you basically get as much room as you need)

I competed for the first time last year as an individual and had an amazing time. Incredibly good value! With regards to competitiveness, the RWD class is fairly open IMO plus my Zed will probably be the slowest one there. I'm going to run huge "STOCK TURBO, INJECTORS & ENGINE" stickers so that everyone knows just what the mighty Zed is capable of!

UPDATE FOR ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN ENTERING AS PART OF THE 300ZX.CO.UK TEAM:

There is now an option for entering as part of a group on the TOTB website.

TOTB Entrance Form.jpg

Also:

Club Teams:

Club teams taking part at TOTB can consist of 5 to 10 cars of any make but one make clubs will get 4 extra starting points for the event

If we can get a team of 5 Zeds to take part, that would really be a massive accomplishment. Now I've been bestowed the title of 300zx.co.uk Motorsports Events Organiser, it is officially my job to get this team organised & entered in TOTB.

Well, I'm 100% entering my Zed, with HKS ALC, new brakes, subframe bushes, diet & a few hours on the dyno with race fuel in its belly!

If anyone needs race fuel let me know :)

Exciting stuff!

So here's the team so far:

1. jaffa - Entered

2. Noz - Ready to enter

3. keano - Ready to enter (please confirm)

4. Silverline - Ready to enter

5. will300zxtt - Please let me know how you're getting on

6. paulzx - Interested.... :)

CUT-OFF DATE FOR TEAM ENTRIES IS 22nd July 2013. 8 days & counting.

I will also be entering the MR2 if it's ready. If the team is short by 1 member, I will enter the MR2 as part of the Official 300zx.co.uk Team. We will lose out on the one-make 4 point bonus, but we must have 5 vehicles in the first place :D

For any other Zed owners out there, if you're interested in entering and have had your car mapped by myself, please get in contact as I will be offering an incentive for you to enter and run a Turbonoz sticker plug.gif

TOTB also gets shown on Sky

Not sure yet. Didn't watch it last year, but apparently my Pulsar was spotted on the handling track.

PMs sent to those that have expressed an interest in entering.

Pm replied. I'm in but can only get there Sunday am. Can't wait for this now.

Cheers.
