As per title and what does it do?

 

I am talking about the white thing in the foreground, it adjusts and is set in the middle of it's travel.

 

FYI my clocks are series 4.

 

mines are series 4 too and never noticed it on mine.

it will be the calibration Pot ... u can set the Speedo needle to show the correct speed .. same on the RPM

You wouldn't normally as it's hidden under the stuck on dial.

True but i just happen to have one sitting on my desk.

 

Like you i have a few carcuses of various series 4 clocks.

 

The one ive currently got fitted was imported from the states and is a nismo with the clocks that go to 300mph.

Couldnt see you photo clearly enough to see that is the adjustment pot

 

But out of interest, what is the part number on the IC (the black thing with lots of legs) it is rather blurred on youir pic, but may be of interest

It looks like a calibration pot to me, would probably be set at the factory with an oscilloscope or something..
