Anyone gave any experience with fuel rank baffle sponge? I get fuel starvation round hard lefts on the track. Wondering if I can squeeze in some baffle sponge around the fuel pump to stop this??? Sounds better than going al out on a new baffled fuel tank.

Hi Jimmy, can you not keep a bit more fuel in the tank, a few extra liters won't hurt. But if you go the foam route it may be tricky getting it in to the tank.

I've never had that problem, have twin in tank walbro's, also the SWB tank is different to the LWB so not sure if that's a factor. Is it worth checking your fuel pump 'pad' is at it's lowest position?

Hi Jaffa, yeah if heard of the swirl tank. Il look into it. In the meantime I've bought done fuel foam to fit and il also check the pumps at its lowest position. Hey you got any links to your time attack stuff?? Sounds interesting.

Summary was a great experience but also very expensive process. Had a couple of failures as I hadn't really tested the car after the work done to it the previous year which uncovered a few issues. Rest of the season was then spent trying to catch up with myself!

Looks like a great experience, I'd love to do something like that. How much was the entry fees and what are the conditions/requirements safety requirements etc?!

Entry Fees are reasonable, about 2k for 6 events. It's the other costs that get you, you need to budget about a grand an event to cover travel, accomodation etc. You also need a second set of wheels for wet tires if you run semi slicks.

 

and... if you break anything you have to get it fixed for the next one :)

no, swirl pot is a narrow tall tank with a second pump in it to feed the injectors. the original pump just keeps the sirl pot topped up.
