There already polished but gone dull also there's some pitting but no kerbing, what best to use and in what order to use them?

Cheers

im doing them at the moment :) but my ones in very bad condition so im using 120 sand paper then 240 ... 400 ... 600 and autosol polish

Yea I've got a kit but doesn't get rid of the pitting, so not sure what else to do

this kit aint gonna help cos its for mild polish ... you need to sand out the pitting ... i can post some pic tomorrow

rolandas - you'll need to use much higher grade sand paper than that to get a good finish. 1500 wet&dry or higher I would have said... someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i wouldnt dream of using low grit on my metal surfaces

im just too lazy :)

I have the course compound for getting rid of the pitting, then mid a light compounds for polishing, same as they use in the professional places, you can buy it cheap enough and lasts ages and gets a mirror finish

As mentioned above, you wont get ALL the pitting out with compounds and polishing wheels. You need to start with wet and dry, around the 280 mark and go at it. Start with just water, then soapy water, then up a grade (the lubrication soapy water provides give you like a half way grade between say 400 and 600). I wouldnt contemplate using compounds and wheels until over 1000 grit wet and dry, which is where machine polishing will always provide a better finish than by hand.

Its hard gutty work and your fingers will ache for weeks, but it is well worth it!

Not sure about you, but i lack a fundamental tool for that, a 2 / 4 poster, and i wouldn't trust my car up on Axel stands with it being in gear and the rear wheels spinning.

with the car in such a high gear 3rd or more for that speed on idle rpm if it did fall on the ground the car would stall but i wouldn't like to get my fingers near the wheel spokes :(

You would take your fingers off doing mine that way lol
