Hi,

I've got a 12v hydraulic pump and pistons off a wheelchair lift. At present, the hydraulics would push out the pistons and then a solenoid would allow the fluid to go back into the reservoir when the lift would lower by weight/gravity.

Is there's any way I could convert it so I can control the pistons to go both in and out via hydraulics?

The top hose attached to the pistons just went into the top of the reservoir pot but could this be used to push the piston back in?

Cheers

Vijay

you need a "double acting ram" mate, you only have a single action ram there.... then a diverter valve body to push and pull the fluid

Hello mate,

But can a single action ram be converted in any way? I went to a hydraulics place today and they were less than useless :(

no mate...it wont have the correct seals and also you need 2 ports on the cylinder

So could I use some sort of spring to return the piston? Or possibly use the second one to push the first piston back (by using a 3 way valve)?
