So one of my headlights have gone and I'm thinking, should I go hid?

 

If so what's best to get and how easy are they to fit?

So how do you fit them?

My HID system was just plug and play, I'm looking for a video clip or pics of it fitted but it's pretty straight forward mate

I had a VIP [ebay] hid ballast pack up within a month of fitting .

I had issues with mine as well and they where the £100 set.... I fixed it by adding a new relay harness so the HID are now getting power direct from battery and only the relay is turned on by the old electrical system.

As far as I'm aware HID are a bit finicky when it comes to a constant current/voltage, so its advised not to flash them as it shortens their lives, well same if the current is a bit not stable.

 

the harness is also available on ebay for around the £10 mark.

 

you do have to understand what you are doing but it is easy.

there is also a link to a thread in there to mod the headlamp flashers so the HIDS stay on when you flash the headlamps with dipped beam on, but only flash the main beam with the headlamps off - an essential mod with HIDS IMO

It might look a lot of wires, cables Birdy but they can only fit one way with their multi plugs, there are only the black and red spade ends that you fit into your dipped stock bulb connector :thumbup1:.

Cost less then £30.

Easy to fit and been on car over a year.

If they went every year would buy a set but seem has good now has when new.

Nice and bright and white rd signs etc glow at night with a little hint of blue.

When you punch in NISSAN 300ZX 87-94 it comes up with H1 for dipped and main beam, that's incorrect :glare:.

 

Dipped beam is H3 to clarify, main beam is correct at H1, which I do not recommend you change from your stock 55w halogen.

 

I've had 'cheap' 26 pounders in mine for getting on for 3 years and no problem :yes:.

I just wrote h3c/h3 hid kit in eBay.

The one I got was the ones for just under £30 delivered.

I got 6000k

Like natural light not to blue.

 

If I knew how to put one up on here I would but I'm useless lol.

As terry says, get 6000k you can't go far wrong there, 55w for a bit more power and of course H3, nice and slim ballasts as well.
