Yep shared it with my uncle for abit so we used to chip in 30 quid each but after about a year I left n he had it himself

60quid a week ... **** me thats mega cheap

Wot he said!!!

That was £25 quid where I was subbing from my mate in the summer.

Let me know what/if you find anything local. Possible interest for storage if cheap.

Might be able to share???

The way this thread is going you should have 10sq feet each:rofl:

Anyone know of any units to rent big enough to fit a 2post ramp in and cheap ish?

Cheap units, well legally compliant ones don`t exist with rent, rates, electric, water +INSURANCE even a two car garage will attract painful overheads when run full time.

Local authority lockups can sometimes be a better deal than private owned, link below for ratable value calculations and contact details for your area.

try your local council, they are struggling to rent them out in sunderland and are offering great deals with shorthold leases aswell, may be the same in your area

On the hunt again eh mate?

Dig yourself a pit in one of my garages

Always thought it would be a good idea to have a network of garages that can be rented out to individuals on a time basis to carry out maintenance, equipped with the Lifts etc.....wish i had done it now, instead of working on the wet drive...

My neighbour pays £20 a week for a unit, only big enough to work on one car at a time, but it has a pit. very handy lol

Oh thats where you are hiding!!

Can you PM me yer contact details

If anyone knows of anywhere in the York area then let me know lol. Got a single garage at the moment that is barely big enough for my zed (length and width) let alone me, any shelves, equipment or anything else!

Paying £100 a month which for a tiny garage in my area I think is actually pretty expensive but not a lot else around....

You shoul look for some council garages. There less than £10 a month and for what your paying you could get a whole block of them, lol.

I remember years ago being on a waiting list for a council garage whilst I rented a couple privately. You have to wait for people to die. Think I moved up the list one space in 2 years, and that was only because I found out where one of the tenants lived... :gun_bandana:

If it was possible to rent multiple garages from the local council for less than £10 per month, surely they would all be taken already. All mine are usually occupied and I barely advertise them, just a half-assed ad on Gumtree every month or so. Lot more expensive than £10 a month, too

With this in mind, please be careful who you get into bed with, so to speak. From bitter experience you need to make sure that you document everything you provide or place into the unit (tooling etc). Get it signed by all parties and write up an agreement amongst yourselves as to who is paying what at what point. Some people attempt to get their motoring aspirations paid for by other parties and then resort to illegal activity in an attempt to lay claim to cars, parts, tools etc. Please be wary and be careful.
