Rear windscreen defroster

So mine doesn't work.

Anyone know how to fix it or what the possible problems might be? The wing mirror heaters are working ok.

Are your wing mirror heaters after market addition wired to the rear demist button or factory?

Check the tracks on the rear window for any obvious breaks or deep scratch, check the wire and connector to the window and make sure the plug hasnt semi snapped off. IIRC the rear demister runs through the TCU as its a timed device turned off to prevent overheating, check fuse.

What's the tcu? The wing mirror heaters are just the standard ones.

Surely they are connected as it comes on when the rear defroster is pressed

Time control unit in the footwell, im only suggesting the route not the main cause. Check the tracks on the rear window and the plug.

my rear demist didnt work at first . it turned out to be a bad connection on the rear screen .

Right.

Ive checked the fuse which is fine and the connections look ok.

Is this the problem?

So this is the passenger side, looks like there a strip that runs from the connector to up and down the side of the window

The same thing on the passenger side looks a bit off

So then I take the trim back its not really attached to the window. Can I just glue it back and re solder the end?

Sorry for the poor quality photos
