Forien body inside z32 engine....weird

An engine we swapped for a customer early part of the year due to low compression on number 6 cyliner was stripped today to salvage usuable parts, all went according to plan until Jamie found a quite unexpected extra lurking with in the inlet tracts to no 6 cylinder.

Quite difficult to see what it was, it was also trapped under the valve quite tightly but with the head removed it was easier to see what it was, still it needed a little persausion to come loose....

Now extracted fully it looks like a bike tyre removal lever?? goodness knows how this got to the position it had, fair to speculate that in the past whilst the plenum was off the tool had been left resting on top and dropped down, must of got stuck out of the way until the right ( well wrong ) moment it got dragged down into the cylinder but been stopped by the valve, the valve seat quite oddly was untouched as was the valve a testiment to the quality of the engine components, why a tyre lever around a zed engine ??

Suppose the moral of this story is to be carefull with tools and whatever around engines with the tops removed.

The engine must have been getting a bit tired :)

trust you to lever one in there

What a Strange tool to be dropped in the engine inlet ..

that had to be there before plenum being refitted to the engine

the lower plenum would of been obscuring the view of it though, so if they missed it getting knocked in the lower plenum, they wouldn't of noticed it before the plenum got refitted.
