As the title suggests my AC pump has seized. and with it now been winter, not having any gas in it and probably full of leaks I'm not really too bothered. however when ever i need to use the front de-misters the belt squeal like a bitch and it nearly stalls the car :crying: .

So whats the easiest way of sorting this? I'm guessing either cutting the belt, or somehow unplugging the cable to the pump.

Or is there a fuse I could pull that wouldn't engage it.

Both mate.....

.....remove the belt as, when you use demist, the a/c kicks in so the belt is trying to move a siezed pump. I also believe there is a relay in the fusebox under the bonnet - if so try pulling that out

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

if the clutch is seizing you cant disconnect it electrially, you have to cut the belt off.

Or you could undo it properly so it can be re used!!:smartass:
