Just wondering how long a std 300zx tt engine would last, what kind of mileage you can get out of them, what mileage has urs dun, and it's it still running like a gem????

Featured Replies

cars in the us are hitting over 200,000 and theres a few topping 300,000. stock tt blocks. nas rack up higher milage, but yeah a well looked after tt could last you wayyyyy longer than you need.

300,000 miles....now obviously fuel prices in the US are a lot less than over here and it's not always been at todays arse rape rates of £1.45+ per litre but just think how much a 300,000 miler zed has cost in fuel and repairs over the years!

if the zed engine is maintained, well looked after and do the usual oil changes, etc, keep all the electrics in order, DONT drive it like a madman until its upto temp.

There it will keep going, mine is on 132k now, i have all receipts and all previous owners details and as far as i can see, its original engine. yes its had the services at 60k and 120k, but it still starts on the first turn, purrs and boost's to 14psi. the engine is the best bit, just wish the shell was designed to last as much

.

mines currently got 178k kilometres on it... which is about 110k miles...

There are Z's with over 300k miles on stock engine AND stock turbos....

...but then you'll find plenty with replacement turbos, headgaskets or rebuilds with under 100k "showing" on the clocks.

Its all about how its been maintained, driven and with a sprinkle of luck over its lifetime.

Will mine is on 104 tho, but got no history, runs well so I hope it stays that way. I will look after it not going to thrash it to much. He he mmmmmm

i did 15,000 on a new engine. but that was abuse every day from the first turn of the key. i think it did well.

not to mention your inability to not not keep turning up the boost beyond the afr's safe useable band :P

"just turn up the boost and rebuild it, when it blows up" hahaha
