insurance time again.

I just got my insurance renewal letter in the post this morning. i have been quoted £190 with 3 years no claims.

the dilemmas i have now though are... 1- do i ring them and let them know of the mods i've done over the past year or not.

2- do i ring around to other companies and declare the mods and see what i'm quoted?

i'm currently with sureterm.

What insurance companies are other members with and how much are they paying with declared mods?

i don't mind if my insurance goes up a bit with the mods declared but obviously not too much as the fuel bill of running it daily costs me most of my spare wedge.

any help or advice will be gratefully received!

The only mods they are interested in are performance enhancement mods, having alloys, stainless exhaust are considered a replacement according to my ins co anyway.

I did declare a whole list of stuff last year and didnt make any difference on the N/A

Mods such as injectors, smic's, turbos, clutch cannot be seen, radiator, brakes, exhaust, alloys yes, should really declare them all as we cannot advise otherwise, but chances are you will not be claiming and if you do are they going to rip your car apart and see what you haven't declared !!

Weigh it up bud :cool3:

Declare all modifications mate - if the worst happens you don't want them refusing to pay out. And I'm not referring to your own loss, rather a 3rd party claim against you if you are at fault!!

You have a pretty good price there anyway so I'd probably not ring around many places, unless declaring your new mods hikes up the premium of course...

I finally got round to renewing my insurance yesterday with my current insurer.

decided to do the right thing and declare all mods, and was extremely surprised to get my new policy for only £264.

well chuffed! It does raise the question though as to why it was so cheap considering that another well used company who has a member on here was going to charge over 3 times that?!

jun bumper, mid level spoiler, alloys (obviously), exhaust, suspension, chipped, skirts not fitted yet but declared, cone filter.

yeah its a classic policy.

5000 miles, £250 excess, driveway parking, 3 points (speeding), theft claim (sierra was stolen)
