Guys,

After a year of searching for a clutch vacum booster I finally got hold of a used one,

The symptoms of mine were that it wasn't holding a vacum at all, if you blew into the pipe you could hear the air rushing out!

Now when the used one turned up first thing I did was blow in the pipe, to my surprise I could hear a very little bit of air leaking out? Also sucking on the pipe I would get a vacuum where I could get my tounge stuck on the pipe but only for a few seconds!

Could anyone please tell me if this is normal for the booster or is it leaking and on the way out?

Thanks

thinking of it logicaly after the unit has vacumed ime sure it needs a vent hole or valve for it to return to atmospheric pressure again or surely it would remain in vacume...thats the best i can offer mate on this problem

now that does make a lot of sense as there is a check valve in the line also so the air couldnt escape and as you say it needs the vent to return to atmospheric pressure, ill give zedworld a ring and get him to suck on the pipe ha ha and im sure that will be the same LOL

thanks for the reply matey

Just spoke to Jeff at zedworld, he thinks mine has a slight leak but is ok to fit, he says they should be sealed so there we have it LOL!!
