just been quoted £500+vat for rear outer sill weld (got 1" slit/rust coming through underneath), grind out 1" bubble on the upper rear arch and rear quarter panel respray.

does this sound excessive or am i being a queen.

I've been quoted £1200 for a full respray and thats a full colour change, so £500+vat sounds like rip off to me mate keep looking around

yep! i'd budgeted £300 to get the work done already, MOT early december, so I wanted to get ahead rather than falling over problems when she goes in. Opposite side of the car couldnt be more different. nothing at all. i'm still suspecting targa drain, so will have to rip out the inside of the car at some point to have a look.

Good result mate!! I reckon the first garage really did not want to do the job so they quoted you an inflated price....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Just make sure you can trust the garage to do the job properly and that they dont just use filler on the sill.

my brother does mobile paintless dent repair for a living (so yes, the panels on my zed are ripple and dent free :) ), and does a lot of work for the company i'm going to. its been established for years, so i'm quite happy its not some lad in a backstreet with an endless filler supply in his garage lol :D

might try and get some progress pics anyway though, just so we can all have a nose. :)
