Machine Polisher Advice

Question for the detailers really.

im looking to get myself a machine polisher so I can keep the motors bright..

After looking its pretty much a mine field.

I want something that will run 1800rpm minimum and have velcro pads.

I also dont want to spend a fortune, ie. the meguiars polisher is about £160.. £230 as a kit..

Any recommendations on polishers or links to a good starter kit would be greatly appreciated...

ive got a silverline one mate and considering its the cheap end of the market it does what it says on the tin and pretty good..What ive found with mine buffing boats is iff you run at the min speed you want then 50% of the compound hits the walls,40% hits your face and you end up with the reamaining 10% for the car

I have a meguairs mop and tend not to have the speed too high, apart from getting splattered as Brian said, i find the buffing disc flies off once lifted off the panel lol

Any adjustable speed machine should be adequate for your needs.

Cheers Guys...

so ive learned,

dodo's are not extinct

when I calculate the amount of polish needed multiply by 10

Gary has kiddy arms

and Groover doesnt know the difference between a grinder and a polisher..

good thread this one... lmao..

I have been looking at the dodo juice ones but wasnt sure and liked the silverline ones because of the price.

Jason Ill have a look at some paint suppliers, theres a couple in the Boro..

If not i am tempted with the dodo ones..

another good point the silverline ones have like the up-market brands is a soft start on the motor..means when you switch it on it runs up slowly to speed and does,nt throw the polish everywhere, plus it has variable speed too mate.

I know it had paint, then you used it, now there's none haha
