oil pressure

Featured Replies

Around 20 to 30 psi hot ... 4 krpm 80>90 psi

Edited by MarkDerby

this all depends on how old the engine is ... ... older engines will have more ware on the bearings and pump giving a lower oil pressure

but 10psi is kinda low m8 Ideally should be around 20>30psi

Kinda trying to picture my aftermarket gauge last night really and posting !!

Been out in it today to clarify.

On start up from cold the a/m gauge soon settles at 6 bar which is roughly 90psi.

When fully warm from gentle driving the temp is just under 180f at 800rpm, the a/m gauge is just on the top side of the 1bar line, so still under what you say Mark at somewhere around 17psi and certainly not the 10psi I previously stated :cool3:

FYI, my stock gauge is pretty much in line with the aftermarket one.

and 180f is way better than 145c that u said .. lol 180f=82c 17psi oil pressure is ok for a older engine but if it starts to get around 10psi think its time to starting thinking about engine over haul

I thought i got that gauge in degrees C?

i was playing with the setting while sensor was not connected :)

on my blue one i was getting 100psi on start up (cold engine), 20psi @ 82 on idle, when driving going up to 60psi, hard acceleration 60 to 70 psi.

ooh and 145c is HG blowing temps
