yes a z32. properly impressed. i thought mine was on mute when i got back to her.. and to put that into perspective, i currently have no exhaust lol as per my "rage off" thread. and no, i'm not driving it like that. shes stuck up on the ramps outside my house tonight until i find a solution :(

i may encourage him next time we go out. i'll bring my camera ;) The car just sounds so much more aggressive than mine. really impressed. couldnt have had mroe issues with mien today if a tried. out of the potential things that could go wrong fitting decats, most of them did. Lost 5 out of 6 studs on the turbo>exhaust manifold where the downpipes are meant to be mounted, the triangular gaskets i received for a 300zx, dont fit a 300zx, and the car is now sat on ramps with no exhausts and id ont have any hss drill bits to drill new clearance holes. ANGRY! at least wills motor cheered me up slightly :)

sweet cheers think we need a vid up, shes got td05's external waste gates and screamers, nothing quite prepares you for the sound lol

its a divorced waist gate (separate pipe on the exhaust system from the turbos waist gate exit) it dumps the waist gate gases, to atmosphere instead of into the exhaust.

Technically due to them dumping gases straight to atmosphere they are not legal as the gases can buy pass a catalytic converter should one be fitted. but on a 300zx its a bit of a gray area as some of our cars pass with out cats

Instead of internally venting wastegates in your turbos, the ports in them are bunged, the actuators removed and the manifolds modified to vent the excess exhaust gases through a runner to a single or twin external wastegate.

On the picture below of mine you can see the exhaust manifolds from each bank have been joined across the back of the engine. The wastegate is bolted just below where they join and has a piece of pipe coming off it, that is the screamer pipe. It makes a very distinctive noise!

Twin setups won't have the runner across the back of the engine but instead will have a wastegate for each bank.

All that extra piping for what is essentially this

Just remember eggs, not everyone is running a single turbo set up, so its always best to explain it in OEM terms unless they state other wise.

Can get very confusing other wise lol

Nope it's a tubular manifold. The only piping you could consider 'extra' is the runner across the back that was probably done to save the cost of a second wastegate.

Im not running a single turbo, just a single wastegate.......

we could do a run in mine with stock turbos, then a run in yours with the same camera so you get a good idea of the difference peeps :) the noise from that screamer bypassing the exhaust system, plus the noise of the exhaust anyway...

i suddenly feel the need to sing "whats that cooooming over the hill?.. is it a monster?.. is it a moooonster???!

Do it, meet up on your lunch break and go for a blast, don't keep us waiting! :tongue_smilie:

right didnt see this before, tell me if im wrong but!!!

if running a boost controller etc this wouldnt work on stock turbos as you'd be pushing everything through the turbos and not wasting hardly anything???! maybe on a totally stock car this would sound ok as the waste gates have something to waste, but i'd cut the narrower pipes down so only about a 100mm ish might help get more noise if thats what your after!
