i started work for a private landlord as a plumbing and heating engineer, and low and behold im still there, not doing so much plumbing these days but still work for the same company, im actually quite chuffed with that as a lot of my friends have had several jobs in the same 17 years, some even opted to just simply go on the dole (lazy fookers)

how long have you been in the job you have now

since 2003 ive been repairing computers and networking, it started out as me just fixing my own, then my mates, then they kept asking me to fix theirs, then they wanted me to fix their friends and then friends of friends, it kinda of snowballed since then and i started charging for my services, handy though as i can spend sometime at home, yet still do work. not all the time i do door to door repairs, ive been contracted out to install networking and servers in a few large companies as a subcontractor which is always fun.

Got my ass kicked by the tax office at the start due to fecking up my tax invoices, so once it actually started getting to the point it was paying bills and i could live as well, i had to go learn

Oh i was a DJ from 2002 through to 2009

I've worked on the railway for 12 years. 1st as a guard then a train driver. Before that I was a beauty therapist for 13 years. Slightly different careers!!

I've worked in IT in my current company for about 18 months. Prior to that, worked in the same company dealing with complaints/correspondence etc for about 2 years.

16 years working in a student union nightclub

Been in my current job for 7 months, but been in the motor trade for 11 years. Worked for every major motor factor in Scotland. Literally done every job there is in a factors starting as an apprentice parts man right up to branch manager. Now BDM for my current company which is by far the best i have worked for. Oh and to make you feel old Stella i was still in primary school when you started that job!!

In 97 I started working on little puddle jumper aeroplanes, in 99 I moved on to work on large commercial airliners. I was quite content until 2001 when some ********* decided to fly some aeroplanes into buildings etc! The shock wave through the industry, the economic climate and the fact that we were screwed over by a ruthless airline, meant that by 2004 the company folded and I was made redundant.

I then went down to Bournemouth to work on similar commercial airliners, until some ********* decided that they should shut the hangar doors permanently after losing work to middle east countries and being screwed over by a ruthless airline... I was made redundant in 07.

I then moved again for a new job in a useless, badly managed company dealing with a popular airline. The company was bought out by a rival middle eastern maintenance organisation who asset stripped the lot then shut it down (lol)... I was made redundant in 2010.

Now I work for a ruthless airline!

First and only job since school.

Same job last 11 years (signs and graphics), although recently I have been working a 2nd job.

Do I love it,? Not so much, being self employed has it negatives!

Been with my current employer 5 months after moving from my other one after being there 9.5 years. Was in general maintance turning/ milling workshop and decided to change jobs for further training in engineering standard machinery and a better pay packet, been turning and milling since leaving college when I was 19, so that's twelve years in the industry!

i worked for a composite company for 21 years made and designed fabric for all sorts of things over the years from wind turbine blades to the glass and carbon for lotus and we also made all the carbon shapes for the merc slr ,company moved to china 2 half years ago, so i took the money and run as i didn't fancie a life in china was out of work for 2 days been in my new job since ,easy money and i only work 4 half days aweek EASY LIFE

I've been at my current job for just over 8 years now.....

......I was at my previous job (tax and office manager at an accountancy practice) for 7 years - which is where I became associated with my current company. It was my biggest (and nicest) client; so when the managing director offered me a job as finance director, I jumped at the chance (well, the second time - LOL). And I'm still there....

I brought my then assistant with me and she's still there working with me today; like any job it has its off days (some more than others) but all in all, I still like it.

Richard:biggrin:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
