My requirements are

Must have total closure

Central locking ability have my own actuator for that already

Silent alarm setting

Immobiliser

Passive alarm setting

Cat 1 certified

I used to have a clifford concept 650 which was the muts nuts, but the ones on eBay are just the basic models now, unless anyone has a breaker with a decent alarm on it they can get out the car in such a way as to be able to refit it

With out going into detail of what alarm you have on your motors for security reasons, what would you recommend? I did get a toad ai606 out of my old black zed that I still have, but looking at all the wires I can't bloody remember how they where plumbed in doh!

I had a Clifford C650 G5 on my old Honda, would recommend it every day of the week...

My Zed has a Toad alarm on it, not sure of the model though.

I know someone who may be able to source a decent Clifford C650 if you like?

can you find out please, loved my clifford, best alarm immobiliser iver ever used.

Just buy a new toad, really easy to install and setup, you will just need to get the wiring certified to get your certificate for insurance.

toad would be my next alarm

just need something for now thats going to work and give me central locking if anything

dropped him a line, he can take some time to respond sometimes though so I'll let you know when I get something back.

The Toad ai606 is the alarm you'll always see reccomended on forums as the one that reliably does its job. It matches your requirements and its Cheap too.

Clifford have lots of bells and whistles but are renowned for being problematic and a lot of installers even refuse to fit them.

SIGMA S30, its the pro fit side of TOAD. does everything you want plus its got a system called keyguard which when you activate it you have to type in a 4 digit pin into its keypad to start the car. So if someone nicks your keys they still wont be able to start the car.

i can supply and fit with a certificate at your home or work for £260

Hi ya bud, does that do total closure and central locking?

LOL ignore that, ive just read it says "does everything you want"

I agree mate; I have this on my blue ZX and it's always done the job with no issues. I don't have the total closure though.....

.....but on my old red ZX I had an Avital Maxx 3 - made by Clifford but without the usual Clifford complexities, yet still a cat 1 system with full window closure. I thought that was pretty good!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yeah, it does everything the Toad Ai606 does plus more, toad and sigma are the same company. the s30 is one of the most advanced alarms on the market, control unit is tiny and so is siren as its li-ion battery back up

alarm comes with lifetime warrenty, and i give lifetime warrenty on my installation for as long as you own the car

Is that 260 fitted with total closure and central locking?

Central locking yes, will need a seperate module for total closure if the car hasnt already got total closure which as you know a standard Z doesnt, what i meant was the alarm has totol closure control of the fob if its fitted. the module would add another £35 to total

Paul.

I bought an ITECH alarm a couple of years ago which is meant to be really good. I never got it fitted and its only at times like these when i remember ive got it lol.

I think it does everything, i'll check if your interested, if you put a sim card in it you can track it when someone has nicked it, which is nice, you can also ring the car up, switch it off and lock the little fu*kers inside.

Im sure you could also link it up to release nerve gas inside the car killing the robbers.

Not being funny but there Chinese junk and I've never saw one work properly or last more than a few months. There not anything approved and only have a dodgy basic shock sensor!!!

well id like the total closure on it as well, pm me a contact number, when im ready ill give you a bell so we can arrange a day for fitting, ill strip the door cards off the zed and other panels to save you some time when you get here.

i have the remains of a ai606 in mine but the interior sensors and siren were both goosed when i bought the car, also whoever fitted it didn't put the drivers door locking actuator in the right place making it virtually impossible to unlock with the key, one of the jobs on my ever growing to do list

I've got siren and sensors mate, but the alarm could have other faults I suppose. I've seen badly fitted actuators jamming the lock before aswell

i bought a new set of sensors just never got round to fitting them then noticed it going off one day and the siren wasn't sounding, i've had other probs with imobiliser circuit to so it's disconnected at the moment awaiting replacement
