Can anyone tell me if these have a name, and if I can buy replacements?

They link the rear subframe to the chassis.

As you can see, mine aren't good, I'd rather buy new than try to salvage...

Cheers

No need to buy brand new, we have plenty of those in good condition available on the shelf, however you have some serious corrossion there.

LOL, yep, I'm more than well aware of the corrosion, but RedWine300 (http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=15465) inspired me, and so far (one panel) its working out fine. Financially at the moment, believe it or not, it's my best option. There's also something about fixing my 'baby' and bringing her back to life.

I'm in desperate need for payday (holiday season and kids literally cleaned me out), which is a week away, but how much are we talking about for two?

Keep the faith Mastercookieman.

Thanks for paying tribute to my welding exploits, glad it has helped you decide to savage her.

I hope that you succeed. If there is at any point you need any information regarding how to go about certain areas, just give me a pm and I will be more than happy to share my experience.

I have to admit its been difficult. When I took off the rear bumper and discovered what lay beneath I was disheartened, but I figured ok, it will take a little longer.

I even started looking for a shell to transplant, but that didn't work out and transport costs were going to be silly.

Then then at the beginning of this week I discovered that the front of the drivers side sill which I originally thought was ok was actually a rotten mess. After some prodding and poking I was actually able to pull off the front wing off at the bottom, by hand alone. It was at this point I realised the true condition of the sills...I was poking what I originally had thought was good metal only to discover that I just hadn't poked hard enough, so I figured break her...I had decided it was just too much to repair.

Then I went back to your thread on the welding site, how you started with and everything you did, so once again I was given hope.

I've repaired in most part, one rear panel that goes under the bumper, I'm I'm pretty happy with it, its strong and looks ok, but now I'm convinced I can do it. It's going to take a while, a long while, but I can do it! :D

Thanks for the PM offer, I may PM you when I just can't take any more and need an inspirational boost, or when I can't workout how to repair one of my many rusty holes! :)

Jeff TT - Please can you give me a price for two of these, one for each side and postage?

Or should I be doing this in the trader section now?

Cheers.
