It's my first time MIG welding and working with metal on this scale, so its a little messy, but I'm getting better.

So far I'm happy with the work I've done, I believe I can do the whole car now, where before I had serious doubts.

'effing hell matey, got your work cut out there! I've already done my rears like you have, and recently noticed paint bubbling up on the rear sills, and a bit on the arch, gonna get it all done as soon as I get chance. Keep it up mate, good work, and keep the pics coming :)

I've done the other rear side now, an improvement on the near side I think, I feel like I'm getting the hang of it now.

Same link, I think - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3371862809137.152612.1046268565&type=1&l=93205a0670

More recent pics are at the start of the album, though had to move some around so it made linear sense.

wow, gotta say, thats one hell of a job, but fair play for going about things the right way. That will be good for years now its sorted. Time and effort, you cant beat it! Did you sort the targa drain issue out? I dont actually know where they go to normally? I'm guessing out of the rear 1/4 sill somewhere hence the collection of rust on the rear arch you've got there. is that anything to do with how the skirts were fitted?

Well must say your doing a grand job and well done for the determination and effort, it will be worth it in the end.

I have just taken the bumpers off my Zed as im currently carrying out a project myself and I have no rust but was wondering fellas if i shoould treat the common areas with something while i have the bumpers off or just leave?

Cheers, just wish I had more time!

That the rear Targa drain there in the pic, hanging down.

At the moment I haven't done anything with it, but will be sorting it out so it has a nice exit. :)

The front ones drains out at around the bottom of the wing. If the front becomes detached it can soak your fuse box etc causing major electric probs. I've already checked mine and internally it was fine, still connected.

jesus..has that car been used as a ships sacraficial anode...good on you for having a go mate

i need to check the rear targa drains then! i have a small wheel arch bubble about 10mm across, but looks like most the damage is below that from your pics. shall have a peak later :)
