The ECU was told that it might have an aftermarket one but the previous owners was unsure.

Now that I know I do have one would it be recommended to have it remaped? Since it was last done its had a replacement engine, cat back stainless exhaust, decats and about to have a manual conversion.

Not sure but I would say yes, u have decated etc and maybe other mods have been done since remap, u wouldnt know what mods were on it when it was originally mapped :)

Absolutely !! get it done tomorrow, can supply all the parts you need for less than a grand............. now back to the real world, no need to get the chip swapped, nothing has changed to the engine and the ecu runs the engine!

Cool didn't know if it would need redoing so that it fuels correctly etc. Not after more power or anything like that just want it to be running at it best.

Changes to things such as decat, induction kits etc. are dealt with easily by the ecu self learn, things such as injector change requires a map suitable for larger fuel supply, your ecu map should be fine, however after such a job ( engine swap ) a full ConZult diagnostic and boost leak check would be advised to be sure all is all at its best.
