So yeah, as recommended by someone in one of my previous post I removed the rear bumper and yes, it wasn't good, although I have to admit I was expecting worse!

I don't think anything could surprise me now (perhaps discovering a diseased Roswell alien would, but that would be weird) as every time I remove something I find new horrors.

The quest continues however, one way or the other.

The phrase "Beyond economic repair" comes to mind.

i have broken 6/8 Z32s over the years but never seen one that bad.

rear valance, ive seen them rotted before, but not that bad and not that high up, funnily enough, not a MOT failure at the lower points, though that might be lol

wow if the back is like that what condition are the sills in ?

I've actually discovered more following these pics, at the passenger side, basically the floor panel needs removing and the main chassis beam replacing, then new floor putting in, welded to good sill metal.

Really sorry to see that mate :(

As said before, that looks beyond repair, unless ur a welded and have 100's of hrs to spare !

Pick up a good body with knakerd engine and swop over ??

I agree, get a new shell, strip everything you want to keep and scrap it. There is enough work to do on a project, without having to virtually rebuild all the bad metal. If the body is that bad, i would suspect it goes alot deeper too. Save yourself the heartache effort and expense and enjoy building up a new one.

i'm terrified of investigating the 5p size rust bubble i have coming on my rear arch now!

dont be scared of investigating it be scared of ignoring it and it getting worse.
