Anyone in telford able to view a zed for me?

As the title says, is there anyone in telford able to go view a zed for me?

Really want to know if it has any rust on the rear arches / sills (might be hard to check due to body kit) and what the engine bay looks like / has any over heating issues?

PM me if subscribed, if not let me know ill send you a link to the zed in question.

he had a full set of chrome bits in there last time guess he took it off, but yes other then mileage part. The car does seem well looked after.

Also asked the same question to jeff on 11/03/10/2011 and the reply was

"The zed in particular has been with us a couple of times, the car is a nice example and has some serious money spent on it to maintain it. We did quote on some body work repairs however we did not do this and it appears that it was done elsewhere.

Overall a nice zed, the price does seem a little optimistic in these present times however it does also represent the work done on it previously, work that can often need doing on less expensive ones.

Hope that helps

Jeff"

Hope it helps :), bit weird that i have gone through what your going through nowlol

i spoke to the owner on the phone earlier, he still has the rotas at his mums house, and yes indeed he removed the chrome bits off it.

I am actually seriously thinking about it, although it is a cat d, that was back in 2001, the car has been highly maintained from what i gather, there is no rusting issues that rebel noticed. seems quite a solid zed. i am waiting on a reply from jeff, but wont hear from him until sometime next week when he can get a chance to view any paper work he has on the car. the cambelt hasn't been changed in a while, so that and a new water pump / thermostat (learnt my lesson on that one) would be the first thing that happens if i manage to get it.

On 03-Aug-12 at 10:50:52 BST, seller added the following information:

ALSO BACK IN 2007/2008 IT WAS CONVERTED TO RUN IN MPH (DELIMITED) BUT THEN WE CAME ACROSS THE NISMO 300KPH CLOCKS SOON AFTER SO IT WAS CONVERTED BACK TO RUN IN KPH BUT STILL DELIMITED AS THE NISMO CLOCKS GO UP TO 300KPH (185MPH). SO THE MILEAGE CANNOT BE 100% GUARANTEED TO BE ACCURATE AS IT IS A MIX OF MILES AND KILOMETERS.

You can never guarantee the mileage of any car unless it has full stamped service history/all MOTs and even then there is still a possibilty its not correct.

This applies even more so to an imported car

hence the reason not too fussed about the mileage, as long as the car shows its been maintained properly, a higher mileage car with better maintenance can be in better condition than a lower mileage car with out.

Not only that, my blue one got to me with UK dials showing 500k miles, 2 years ago, the old MOT said it had done just 102k miles, so unless someone had done something to the dials, i couldnt see the car doing 400k (especially for a 300zx) in 2 years lol

Just thought I'd give my 2p worth.

I think it seems like a good buy. A Cat D on a car this old is nowt. An insurance company would cat D a zed if the cost of repair was only a few hundred quid.

Unless a previous owner was Ferris Bueller of course

Daughter deals with insurance claims all day and a Cat D as Birdy says is nowt to worry about

I don't fully understand this philosophy personally, if the price is right then you want the best you can get for your budget? If it was my money, I would have a good look at them both and decide which one was the best example for what I want and buy that.

They both have their merits, both been well maintained, the black one is closer to the end result id like and i don't mind modding it with parts off my blue car, the cherry red one, is too good to modify, if ryans sells before the end of the auction on the black one, so be it, but id like to personally wait to see if i can get the black one first, as that would be better for modding to my tastes.

How ever, i love the cherry red one, but as i said, id find it extremely difficult to modify, i know its got side skirts already on it, but its been keep in so pristine condition that id actually want to get it back to standard more than it is now, which is going in the wrong direction of what i wanted a zed for. albeit a good direction lol

Thats probably made you more confused lol

Good luck with whichever one you chose Vods....

.....and like my previous offer, if you need a lift to Telford to pick up this one then I'd happily oblige there as well mate!!

thanks bud, ill let you know and that would be very much appreciated.

According to Experian, Ryan's car has only been in the UK since December 2010 so it should be solid underneath. Plus there is no other warnings on the HPI

What good club spirit this thread has generated!!

It's always nice to see members helping each other out like this - top work Rebel, ajuj12 and Sir Charles (have some rep for that guys); and many thanks for your coming to the aid of another member.......

I hope not. Personally I really like the look of the black one and if vods wasn't bidding I would consider it at that price it's at.

I work in insurance and as lon as the car has an mot we don't normally care about the previous damage (ya just got to check that out yourself really

After looking at it if the black one had been for sale when I was looking for a zed I would probably have bought it.As far as I could see it was straight and solid (checked all the areas where mine had gone and was all good),bit hard to tell under the skirts but the rear corners and arches are all good and apart from the issue with the front bumper the paintwork is good, boots as dry as a bone and it sits nice.Have seen folks ask more money for zeds that are nowhere near as tidy :)
