Well after doing my pin 44 thing, and also sorting out my audio (seemed to have lack of base for some reason) decided to take my little boy for a driver and also test what effect doing wiring in the neutral switch was going to have.

Anyway, driving through down earlier, quite congested, couldn't do more than 20, had this black ford following me, anyway, was slowing down, with my indicator on to turn right, when next thing i know, i got shunted from the rear.

Although i had rust bubbles there wasnt any cracks in it like that.

IMG_0355.jpg

There is more damage but these were the ones i noticed right away and took photos of.

The damage to his car was minimal

mine now most likely needs to be put on a jig, ill get better pictures in the morning.

think ill take it to a body shop first and get a quote for the cost to repair, then most likely go through the insurance on this one.

thats 2 times in a matter of 3 weeks someone has hit the back end of my car, and 3 times since ive owned it :( twice when it was sat still, and now this time when i was coming to a stop from 20mph.

Might be time i threw the towel in depending what the insurance say.

There is more body work buckling under the bumper, as i had a look, and the boot doesnt close properly now either, it makes a distinct metal hitting metal noise.

Hi

Very sorry to see this happened to your pride and Joy

Always sad to see another one go to zed heaven

Hope you get the right response and deal from the insurance

Tony

Thanks bud,

Seems there are some others who seem to think that my "prang" is something I've managed to do my self, strange how getting rear ended all of a sudden, makes it my fault. but then i wouldn't of expected anything less from the people commenting like that. i am aware as others have brought it to my attention.

I do find it quite funny though how anyone would think id put the life of my own son in danger for the purpose of an insurance claim after fighting for over a year to protect them, add onto that all the work and money ive plowed into getting this car on the road. id of sooner broke the damn thing than purposely set out to get into an insurance claim that is ultimately going to make my premiums increase.

Ive stayed out of all this BS and forum political *****cks, But then i suppose it just highlights the reasons why things have failed between clubs, when we have people like that with such a low attitude towards others.

I could of commented when someone had broken down miles from home with no spare wheel, but didn't, i could of laughed my ass off about it, commented how it couldn't of happened to a nicer bloke, but i just sat by and watched while people on THIS club pulled together to help.

But i draw the line when my child is also involved and was in the back seat, he isn't even 3 years old. personally i find it disgusting and quite vulgar in fact and just goes to show the mentality, though i suppose considering his past history of threatening violence to people on a forum (not this one, barryboys), go off on one like a child in a playground and throwing well his pram around, posting unfounded things left right and centre, and expecting everyone to agree, wishing people dead on an open and public forum, yet remains in charge of something because he likes the feeling of power. should i really of expected anything less.

Sorry tony for going off on one, but i think some people need to get a grip, get a life, and actually grow the **** up.

This could of been a lot worse had the other driver been driving faster, my little boy could of ended up in hospital, there was a zebra crossing in front of me, my car could of been shunted into a pedestrian causing injury.

Its a shame to see it being broken really..Anything is repairable to an extent. My m8 would have that repaired in a few days:(

Going to see what the insurance say, was about to ring them until i got side tracked by some idiot.

sorry to hear this ian, however knowing the history of the car in terms of its tin worm issues, i do a have to agree that it this may be the nail in the coffin for it. you dont need me to tell you about it pushin your insurance as its now classed as a cat... whatever right off. my personal opinion would be to write if off buy it back then break it and pool the money to buy and keep parts to get a more solid base for your project. chin up bud im sure we can find that club spirit and try and sort things out for you somehow.

Where is Jeff and his vulture pic?

Who me??

Well on this one there are real agents of death for our cars the first is the greedy insurance companies who take your pants down when you take up a policy and again when you make a no fault claim, the 2nd agent of hell is false claims of whiplash and fake accidents mainly arranged by Eastern Europen gangs that have unilaterally pushed everyones insurance up and your local friendly bodyshop who get the max from a repair with the minimum of quality checking by the insurance co after!

So here is the insurance co image

Anyway, spoken to the claims line, just going to wait a phone call from the insurance tomorrow and take it from there, defo going to see about buying it back though, way to many funky stuff, well thats if they even write it off.

dosnt it depend on what you valued the car as??

only if you had previously agreed the value mate, other wise it'll be a bloke with a copy of autotrader..

so how do you agree the valuation??

so how do you agree the valuation??

You have to do it when you take out the policy. It normally involves taking photos of the car and sending it to them.

I can see you getting £5000 for it really. Its got loads of stuff on it and with prices on the rise....

They dont need to know what welding work needs doing under the kit.

Buy it back sub £1000 id say. Then break the fooker and start a fresh.

well, not sure if auto trader is going to be able to give a good estimate of the value of my car considering everything its got on it.

That's what the valuer did with mine, they'll compare it with similar zeds and take into account the overall condition to come up with a price.

M3's are crap lol, no one stares at you when driving an M3 lol

Yeah they do!-usally moving their fist up and down slowly.....:lol:

You's can mock....

Let do a forum trackday and see who lasts the day???

The M3 does everything well, and doesn't cost the earth the run. I love them.

I will get another zed one day, i just cant afford the headache of one at the minute.
