Poly bushes/tension rods

Hi All,

I've got some poly bushes to install in my tension rods and just want to make sure I have all I need before I proceed. Are they supposed to have a metal bush/sleeve in the centre?? it seems a bit odd that the one's I have are black plastic only - is this correct?

I thought there was an article linked on AndyP's site but can only find the adjustable tension rod install. can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Cheers,

RobH

Hi Rob,

Yes, the poly bushes have a metal tube down the middle. For ease of installation, remove these metal tubes and press the polybush into the tension rod with a press. I found that a bit of washingup liquid or even wd40 gives it just enough "slipperyness" to allow it to go in fairly smoothly. Once the bush is in the rod, push in the metal tube.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Danny

Grrrrrr!!!

It seems I've been sold a lemon. I have poly bushes with no inserts - what f*ckin' use are they!!!???

Presumably the inserts are supplied with the bushes and not an extra?

I'm waiting to see what response I get from the seller before I announce who did me this great service.....

Get adjustable tension rods from SE like me and no more Kate Bushes ever again! Well for tension rods anyway.

You should have the inserts, Have you recieved the correct bushes? if they are Energy Suspension ones they will have the number 8142 on them.

If your supplier cant help you let me know and I will make some inserts and post them to you free of charge.
