Yes - although different companies have different age restrictions (for both driver and car)....

.....But Lynbrooks, Footman James, Carol Nash and Adrian Flux are just 4 names you could try.

Ok that's great!! :) I know your restricted to 6000 miles a year, but how much would you be talking money wise for a year insurance??

im on a 8k year policy, with lynbrook, im 34 and paying 330 fully comp per year with all mods declaired. footman james wouldnt insure me as i have way to many modifications lol

Think you need to be over 30 for classicline, im sure i tried them before.

Cant say enough for Footman James. Ive got 2 policies with them, and have had for a couple of years now. Im 28, and i pay £200ish.

2 years ago, my silver zed TT was £104!

... Would I be able to get cheap classic car insurance at 23?!

I can get insured with a "normal" insurance company for around £700 for a standard ZX twin turbo non import...

Ud be very lucky on a zed my capri was on classic when I was 21 but the zeds a little more of an animal.

Unlikey mate - but not impossible....

.....although to qualify for a classic car policy on the ZX you must have another vehicle for everyday use.

Perfect mate - so as long as your age does not prohibit you; pop the ZX on a classic policy and save yourself some money!!

Dave at Footman posted a while back about that Richard to say as far as he was concerned you only had to have access to another vehicle, ie be a named driver on partner/parents insurance would also allow you to take out a policy with FJ

i'm with sureterm, i'm 28, all mods declared, fully comp, limited to 5k miles per year. £320. and i only had to declare 7 years no claims to them, I didnt have to use it.. so i use my 7yr no claims on my daily car :)

when i had my rx7 i was paying £800 to adrian flux... went with these guys, and got it for £280. i wouldnt touch adrian flux... when i told them i was leaving at the point of my renewal, they tried to offer me a cheaper price than they quoted 1 week prior. i dont trust companies that dont offer you their best price first up!

i got my classic insurance from lancaster insurance ...£165.00 although limited mileage of 3000 .but i only done 2000 miles this years so happy days

ahh cool... I'll bear this in mind. When I get a zed I probably wont be doing more than about 3k miles a year anyway. Cheers

I have a 1991 z32 jap import N/A and I'm 25. Any info would be great!!

Yes but my premium has gone up by £7 since last year....£201 is outrageous for fully comp on a 3ltr V6 twin turbo....oh wait

  • 3 months later...

classic car insurance comes with limited mileage...

it is designed for people to have a car as a hobby so by definition not a daily drive.

for a daily drive be prepared to pay around the £500 mark (and more if you're young or have convictions).

Hmm but for exaple, i put like hmm 4k milies limit on Zed and i dont have any other car (i used bus to get to my job). I still cant get classic insurance?

You cant get classic insurance without a primary car insured on a standard/other policy.

i pay 300 with 5000 mls a year as i wennt to some classic insurace places thay sead thay cant as the car not 20 years +
