right so clutch slave cylinder is moving, pivot ball is not snapped as i can clearly see it when the dust boot is removed, yet can not get the gear box to go into any gear, no 1st / 2nd 3rd, 4th 5th, or even reverse?

So much for going manual to solve my gear box problems. clutch pedal feels normal, what else could it be, ive been driving it like a grandad since it went on so as well, so its not like the box has had extra stress or anything.

clutch master has fluid in as well and with the clutch slave cylinder moving, i cant see why it wont now go into gear.

what about when you pump the clutch pedal a good few times does that help?

on mine yesterday the clutch pedal felt ok but wasn't bled enough to select gears.

Do you have a quickshift?

yes, it has new bushes, and all sorts, its just not going into gear, you can hear the engine revs slow down if you try to force it, so i cant see why the quick shift would make a difference, its not engaging the syncro's from the feel of it.

Ian ... so the slave on the gear box the piston is going in and out but the Clutch Fork isnt moving ?

if this is So ... i'm afraid the box is going have to come of again m8 ..

sounds like Fork has snapped or the Pivot has broke .. its known on the 300zx

as i know the Bearing and Clutch pressure forks was in good order as i checked them before we popped the box on

its a bummer m8

But why would it be working fine one moment and then get a bit stiff last night, then no gears at all today? surely if there was air in the system it wouldnt move the clutch slave cylinder?

Oh just for added information, its the clutch slave cylinder, connected to the master by a braided clutch hose, if i take the cap off the master, the fluid is right at the top, when i fitted it, it was just below the MAX mark.

No bud, the clutch fork is moving, the pivot ball is present, i spoke to Jeff and he advised me to check the movement of the piston and also to see if the ball was still there, you can clearly see the ball attached to its stalk from out side the gearbox through the hole that the clutch fork goes through. its defo moving when the clutch pedal is pressed as well, though it might not be moving enough.

If you have more fluid in the master now than before it sounds like you may be dragging in air on release of the pedal??

Have you adjusted the clutch pedal to compensate for the different clutch? Also pull the boot back on the slave cylinder and see if there is any fluid in there

bud it was working fine from the moment it was put back together, untill yesterday when i pulled out of my friends drive, and it was struggling to go into gear, now this morning, it wont budge into any gear even with a great deal of force, if the pedal needed adjusting, id of know about that not long after the gearbox was fitted, the clutch slave piston is moving and the clutch fork is moving as well, so there is defiantly fluid and no air in there, its moving about 1 inch or so. its just not engaging the syncro's enough to get it to shift into gear.

Either the clutch fork has bent, the clutch release bearing is fubar, or the gear box has gone on all gears (very unlikely as id loose a few not all)

Maybe check hhe master cylinder moving both ways freely. Sounds to me like the cylinder could be sticking a little.

Found the issue, small rubber hose attached to the heater piPe work that goes under the steering column had worked its self up to the front of the clutch pedal stopping it having full travel back to its resting place, all gears are back now thank god

great news mate, simple fix. guess you dont need to ring now lol :)

kinda deserved as ive never taken me zed to zedworld for a check over

but never thought about checking the clutch pedal for obstruction from the front, it was only because i was checking to see if i could adjust it that i found out my problem
