Very impressed with Z1 Motorsport and Fedex....:)

On Monday afternoon at around 1pm i placed an order with Z1 Motorsport (Georgia, USA) for a set of series 2 to series 1 injector adaptors, with delivery by Fedex......

Well they have just arrived at 7:56am this morning!!! :)

How is it that an item from halfway round the world can get here in that time.......but post something here and it takes an age to arrive???

Well done Z1 and Fedex! :)

Yup, ALWAYS choose Fedex. The USPS option is a nightmare.

Z1 are great. I wished the UK market was big enough to justify companies like them over ere

coz from conceptz been sorting out all my brembo stuff just waiting for last delivery and they use USPS with tracking and been really good and long may it continue

What was the shipping cost on that bud?

What was the shipping cost on that bud?

Z1 has a shipping estimator. Put items in your shopping basket and click shipping estimator :)

Nice one, seems to be a minimum $79.60 but that includes a decent weight allowance

Without checking the invoice I think it was about $35 :)

£37 Import vat/tax on over a $3k Order

For anyone thinking about doing this themselves, bare in mind the very low Import duties above is because of a seriously undervalued package being sent.

Great when it arrives safe and sound, but not great if it arrives damaged or somehow lost in the system which it can.

Allow 21% for costs of duties to cover real value of goods AND postage costs.

will dig out the paper work but i'm sure the postal value was on the amount on value ... not at a % of value to get the cheaper import

but yeah it would be a real bummer if something like that did happen but if u pay be Credit card you have a Safety back up for Goods not supplied/damaged

but this all so depends on who u bank with

With my injectors from Canada I was hit with £33 import duty, but thats the only time ive had to pay import duty on anything ive ordered from abroad.

That's correct and not what i meant mate.

Every package has an invoice attached stating value of goods and cost of postage, this is totalled and roughly 21% is then charged for import duty and VAT.

Though not all cases are people charged for what ever reason, however always best to assume you will, so a big bonus if not.

To claim from anyone , Fedex, post office or credit card conpany etc for damaged goods, the invoice has to be produced and only that amount can be claimed.

For missing goods then the email/internet invoice has to be produced, however should the goods turn up and original posting invoice discovered, your liable for a case of fraud if the amonts differ greatly.

Having imported from the many countries especially the US on an almost daily basis for 3 years, i've looked at every bloody scenario and possibility to avoid duties.

So in short all am saying is, when importing goods devalue is okay, but be aware of the pitfallls and certainly don't be greedy by how much you devalue.

In your case of £67 quid, your value must have been around $500 yikes...

Its more like 24-25% now, with the VAT increase.
