jJst to add a little bit of continued competition between the TVR camp and the Z/ZX Camp have quoted the following quote from this thread

http://zclub.net/forum/rally-race/20031-pink-hat-rule-17-2b.html

It appears there may be a spiritual successor to the Pink Hat.

Having seen off the might of the monstrously powerful, well driven but sometimes recalcitrant 240Z race car the TVR camp is now being troubled on a regular basis by another Japanese thing. Not a Datsun but a close relative. It has the general appearance of a shed made from second hand bits of shed and carries the marking 300ZX.

Despite the appearance it is becoming rather too quick for comfort. We do battle again this weekend at Gurston where if the recent improvement rate continues the Twin Turbo Shed could well take the win.

That'll be me and my car then.... SHED!!!! I may take offence at that comment although the car is not pretty I think shed is a little strong... But after the wonderful people at Read performance played with it this week and put another 30 bhp and 33 lbs of torque 2 new rear tyres and new BC coil overs corner weighted and balanced the "shed" is more than ready for the plastic roller skate this weekend ..... Pssst TOP SECRET stealth attack mode of course ;)

Good Luck for the weekend!,If it wasn't for Radio 1 hackney weekend I would come along to support. My old man used to take me to Gurston as nipper (many moons ago)

Roy Lane in a 5.0l single seater always got you focused!

Great location and climb

In brief

Another great weekend of speed hillclimbing will take place at Gurston Down on June 23rd and 24th with two separate events to enjoy on Saturday and Sunday, all in fond memory of Gurston course co-designer, multiple British Hillclimb Champion, Grand Prix driver and all-round top sportsman Tony Marsh, who died in 2009.

Saturday’s four-wheeled entry ranges from Austin 7s through all the usual production based classes, to an eclectic selection of historic and sports libre machinery, and of course single seater racing cars.

Sunday’s meeting has attracted a huge entry including big classes of MGs, Ferraris and Porsches, plus all the contenders in the Gates of Brockenhurst Gurston Down Hillclimb Championship, a very well supported 500 Owners Association racing car class featuring the kind of cars Sir Stirling Moss learned his trade in, plus all the top drivers in the fastest racing cars in the region contesting the Top Ten Challenge.

if any of you have not been to Gurston to see the hill climb it is really a great day out

All the guys who take part there are really friendly and make you feel at home

A great bunch of guys

I went , and had a enjoyable day, in fact would go again but stay over night next time , never got to see the Red charriot run though.

I went and watched a lot of the practice couldn't stay for the proper racing. I saw a lot of fast cars (and some slow ones). Had a chat with Simon great bloke who's enjoying his racing. Seemed like a decent bunch of guys. I'm definitely thinking about taking part if not this year then next :) Looking forward to meeting Simon again and hopefully competing alongside him sometime soon :)
