Insane speeds, keeping back end straight with that much power must be insane

I know its a diesel, but thats a whole second faster than a Standard but remapped BMW 335D.

Im not putting it down by saying that, because the remapped 335d is insanely fast. They are hitting 370bhp, but over 700nm Torque. And obviously its a £10k+ car for a high mileage used one. and a second is a long ime in quarter mile drag race. even a 6.2 monaro VXR struggles against the BMW 335D on the strip.

Thumbs up Bob, and for all those who go on about 10 second cars due to films like fast and the furious, you need serious funds to get 10 second quarter miles. £100,000 in tuning alone excluding labour on most road cars.

Nice results.

I know a guy well kind of know ive spoken to him a few times. he has an orange zed. he has done a 10.1 quater but normally late 10's

Great results Bob well done!

£100k though is a bit excessive its easy to get 10s with the right mods just look at Speciality Z blue beast running sub 10s and that spec is around 15k or so. e have a few zeds in the UK now hitting big power but its all for show unless you can drive it fast and Bob jsut keeps on getting better and better.

Nice results.

Really?

And well done to Bob, keep practising and the times will continue to fall

I wish mac1 would have took his down and shown what it could do. Not seen or heard from him in ages.

Well die bob. What bhp is he running?

very good results ..traction problems perhaps ? mid to high 120 should be running in mid 11's easy i would think

You are correct there Steve. The car is capable of running mid or even low elevens.

No traction issues at all with the Hoosier Drag Radials.:thumbup1:

I just need to train the driver a little more.;);)

Being serious....Overall Bob cut 0,3 secs from his previous best so a good days effort.

Getting in to the elevens is not an easy driving task . Bob knows what is needed next time improve and he will get there without doubt.

What sort of 1/4mile times are you expecting from your competitors at TOTB Pete?

2011 RWD results....

Bob was running on 5 cylinders we later found out:huh:

so put the 12.05 in that list from last year.

Elvington does not run as quick as Santa pod tho as the track is rough as old boots!

Quick Update....

Sat 9th June.

Bob is now in the 11s with a 11.97 run.

No further details till I get to see the time slips.

I wasnt there as I was at knockhill with Jaffa.

Awesome!

Cool, time to strip that interior out isn't it Bob?:thumbup1:

we are already discussing a new leaner meaner spec.:thumbup1:

However there is no spare time before TOTB to carry out any major revisions.

It seems like only last week I put that interior in the car:blink:

awesome zed

well done Bob and Pete.....now shed those kilos and get back on the loud pedal ....low elevens maybe even high tens ...massive leaps though to get into these times...

keep out of the nines unless you want to fit a chute ......

steve

Thanks for the comments guys. I really doubt we'll get much more out of the car it's simply not set up for the quarter mile. Got tein monoflex on very heavy spring and very little movement at the rear so doesn't squat at all. Not only that when I try to change gear faster it just pops out lol. I'm satisfied with the times and while the next step for the car will involve weight reduction it will also mean some aero mods which won't help with the quarter. I seem to be hitting low twelves generally and I'd be happy with that at TOTB.

I haven't worried about reaction times as it doesn't matter for me currently I'm not really fussed about going head to head on the quarter.

See you all at TOTB :)
