Just had the text from Jimmer. Engine build finished and ready to collect! So a nice looking engine complete with forged internals, metal h/g, 650cc injectors and a port/polish.

 

Time to get it home but can only drop it in the engine bay for now while I finish the 200. Might change my plans to .....

Who are they made by though?

lol loads of big tubs around but normally come with huuuugggggggggeeeeeeee lag. Just interested in what others are running and whether it is something i should look into using with my engine or not.

my t28's start boosting around 4k about 4500 is full power ... there is more lag than stock but the power just pulls all the way to limit

 

· T: 53mm-62trim / 64 AR

· C: 60mm-60trim / 60 AR

Depends on where the car is being used really. massive tubs are only good for a drag strip.. gt25 seem to be popular. i had the rsr's on my coupe and there good for about 380hp and are at full boost at 2.5K/3k

I'm sceptical on the lag of these things, as well as fitment. They're also an old design from what I can see.

Why'd you choose these?

was that on 4 pot engine ?

 

as we all need to remember we only got 1.5lt 3 pots per turbo ...

 

so a turbo with say 400hp rating and Spool of 3k will only see around 300 and 4k spool

 

as turbos on the shelf are rated for 2lt 4 pot

I spoke with the guy about the power I wanted and he spoke to the guys in U.S. about what they had suited and these are what they came up with. There will be some lag but I'm not to bothered as I don't cane it in built up areas only open roads where you can get the revs up. I also didn't have £1.5-2k to spend on tubs and these were well under a £1k granted he did me a deal as a supplier.

 

As for fitting, I'm fitting a VG30DETT in a S14 and built the single turbo 300 which loads of people said couldn'tbe done but 500bhp later.. I like the challenge of making this fit as well

fair enough, what power do you want out of interest mate?

 

I'm looking for 550-600 if possible, have to beat my previous of 500.

 

I'm sue they'll be a pain in the arse to fit but that's half the fun.
