Since I don't own a Zed any more, I believe that i shouldn't have this roll any more, so i'm standing down as REO for ASG.

Thanks for all your input Matt you did a great job, thats the end of the region now, someone turn the light off on the way out will you.I cant forsee anybody stepping up to the plate.

Tis a sad day,end of the region imho.game over.Knew it would happen eventually.oh well we had some good times over the years.Dave still has a collection of south west vids i believe.

Im not so sure really and the interest is shocking anyway tbh.id like to hope so.so good people have picked up the ball over the years and thrown it back in despair after a short term.

There is loads of us in ASG.

Shame you dont have the zed anymore Murt.

Will you not get another in the future? I would assume the position would always be open for you.....

I was Reg rep on an old owners club, for another car, meets were dead in the area, so I arranged a different way to arrange meets.

The first meet would be done by a poll, everyone would put their idea / location in, the one with most votes would get the first meet. out of the people to attend the meet, one would be picked out of a hat to arrange next months meet, and then again, one of the attendees would be picked a random to arrange he next meet so on so forth

This way, locations truly vary. And more people get to attend.

We also did a giant summer meet, where it was he north meets south in the midlands. car club with only 300 active users, had 64 cars turn up. whish was really impressive imo.

But there is much more than organising meets to be a Reg Rep.

Hopefully someone can step upto the mark. (I vote Jimmer king of knowledge)

I dont know enough about the Z in general to be a rep, im not a long enough standing member, and not even subbed yet. I wouldnt be up to the job for Rep here. Hopefully when we do have meets though Murt, you can still come along, meet up with everyone. See the Zeds, maybe it will make you want another one lol.

Sad to see the numbers of these great cars going down I guess there is more being broken and scrapped then bring imported. But there is still a good few in your area and compered to my area Ireland I am the only active member! So dont give up hope yet it takes two cars to have a meet and judging by this thread you guys have the numbers.

Sorry to see you stepping down Murt - and whilst not having a ZX does not exclude you from being part of the scene, I do understand your reasons.

If you are sure, then we will advertise the role among the remaining ASG members.

On behalf of the club and committee, I'd like to thank you for your services as REO; you'll be missed mate!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

i dontk now if this of of any use, but in the north wales group, we try and move the location around to try and get a few out, and having a set date for meets i.e first saturday of the month etc. seems to be working well, usually get a fair turnout :-)

Sad to see you go, if any subscribed member from the ASG region wants to fill his shoes, please get in contact with me via PM.

Biggest problem with little meets is they get arranged but then people fail to show up, happens everywhere for some reason.

i can remember when i first joined my first meet was weston super mare not many of us there think it was yowser, greg, yami, mr rogers, pj & myself but the area grew to some great meets in a 12month period think the best 2 were one at cirencester arranged by allan (gruntpa) and the ross on wye meet organised by allan & myself, it's a sad day for the area but i think escallating fuel prices arn't helping, i'm determined to put more miles on the zed than last year, just checked my m.o.t. and only did 750 miles in 12 months!!!!! i'm sure someone else will step up to the fold we've had some good meets in the past and i'm sure we can again in the future
